@mattwellens Fifth time NMU has gone to OT this season. Cats are 1-1-3 with two shootout wins and a shootout loss.


And OT has started. Ellingson had to come up with a HUGE save on the Nanooks.

Embarassing. A Power Play draw, and the Nanooks are able to win it and rush up ice.


To the Shootout we go! For NCAA purposes, we're tied with UA_. We've officially *ed our PWR tonight.

2-2 Final, Alaska wins SO, Unlike the NHL & AHL, the SO Winner doesn't get credit for a Win or a Loss, nor is there an extra goal awarded. It's W-L-T-SOW in the CCHA.

Jesus Christ. Taranto is only a Junior? I thought he's been with Alaska since I graduated in '05??!?

He was 16 when you graduated. 09-10 was his freshman year.

I've been arguing for the CCHA style to be adopted by the NHL and AHL for years. I certainly know how it works, and commented above that for NCAA purposes it ended at a tie.

And Taranto is one of those names that you hear every year playing well against the Cats and you wonder why they haven't graduated yet. Like Dion Knelsen.

Knelsen always played well against NMU. I like the CCHA style as well, although its unlikely to survive the conference shift!
