My wife and I started watching "Orange is the new Black," on Netflix. Hilarious. We're about halfway through season one.

Other shows since 1960 have ripped off the premise, but man I love this, especially the ending:

Sharknado is on again.

This is so bad. Who thought up this plot?

Re: TV Thread 9: The Walking Dead Americans are completely Justified to be Psyched

Anybody got a recommendation for an old TV show I can pick up on Netflix to watch. I'm about done with the Profiler which is so so at best. Have moved Nikita, Sarah Connor Chronicles, Alias, Early Edition, Stargate SG and Intelligence into my queue wondering which one to start with and what other ones are worth adding until Boardwalk Empire comes out in Late August

If you are talking DVD rental and not instant watch then I can recommend a few other HBO shows. 1 - The Wire. 2 - Deadwood. 3 - Six Feet Under. 4 - Carnivale.

And I will 2nd the Brotherhood suggestion.

Ghost Shark premieres Aug 22. "If you're wet, you're dead." Cannot wait. Yes, it is a shark, that is a ghost. You can't make this up!

Just got through the first 2 seasons of The Killing. Thought it was fantastic, and cant recall seeing it talked about here (but could just be I ignored those posts since I wasnt watching). Definitely worth the time.

Hmmm, I have heard enough bad things about it (though, they weren't on here) that I have avoided it. Mostly, I have heard that it moves way too slowly, and the plot is very unbelievable at times. Are these accurate or have I been getting bad info?

He was in The Pacific, too. But Cooper Harris is an iconic character.
I know!

Most people gave up on it. The pace was incredibly slow. The number of false positives were excessive. It was originally supposed to be one season and they streeeeeeeeeetched it out to make it two. I watched all the way through but was turned off by the ending. The twist involving the aunt was unique but why nothing happened to anyone else was mystifying and the new mayor becoming jaded and corrupt was a very disappointing end. It had a lot of potential but never met it IMO. Not bothering with the new season.

I gave up on it shortly into the second season. Way too slow, way too many red herrings, and it just gets increasingly ridiculous. It's not nearly as ridiculous as Pretty Little Liars, but at least that one isn't taking itself so seriously.

I just watched the first episode of Orange is the New Black and noticed that Red, the head of the kitchen was Captain Janeway! (Star Trek: Voyager)

I would say it's really slow in the way The Wire is really slow, so not a negative to me. Yes, there are a lot red herrings, but it is essentially 26 episodes that equal 26 days of a homocide investigation so it just felt like over the course of the investigation new evidence might point in different directions. As Priceless says the very last bit is uneccesary but didnt leaving with a bad taste really either.

For a youth comedy, I so love that movie. It's just so well done, and not stupid(ok, it might be stupid, but not stupid stupid, you know what i mean?)Just a classic comedy. With Vinnie Jones and soccer hooligans. It's hilarious. Anyone named Scott, and I'm automatically singing "Scotty doesn't know", and I say "Me scuze" all the time.

It's hard to believe that after being so outrageous and over the top in Euro Trip, he can play so deadpan in Justified.

My three guilty pleasure stupid youth comedies. Euro Trip, Grind, and Sex Drive. Four if you count Ski School, from way back in the day.

Yeah, Fred Armisen really kills it as the creepy guy on the train. Lots of well cast minor roles like Matt Damon and Diedrich Bader and Lucy Lawless and Vinnie Jones and (especially) Rade Serbedzija. "Miami Wice is number one new show!"

Speaking of killing it in a minor role, and going back to a movie discussed a couple of days upthread, I was, um, coerced into watching Pitch Perfect last night, and Elizabeth Banks KILLS with just about every line. Very reminiscent of Jason Bateman and Gary Cole in Dodgeball. The movie was kind of predictable and the music is not my style, but I was nonetheless on the floor when she revealed that her a capella group was called the Minstrel Cycles.

Edit to add: also, Alexis Knapp is hot with a capital H-O-T.

And Yoga Jones is Patty Mayonnaise from Nickelodeon's "Doug."

What a great series. It's light and comedic, yet dark and tragic at the same time. I've been binge watching this with my wife, and within a week we've almost burnt through the first season.

And Pennsatucky is Cherry from Sons of Anarchy.

I'm 7 episodes into the first season. I really like the flashbacks that gives us insight into why the others are there too.

Ski School!!!! Man, what a classic. Dave Marshak: Welcome to my kingdom. I will bed you all before the night is through.
