Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Finally caught last week's episode of Community. Fantastic episode, but I really got a kick out of Leonard's "review" of Frozen Pizza. If you've ever seen some of those stupid YouTube "reviews" where people yap on and on about things that they don't know how to describe (much less review), it's a pretty good parody of one. There's also a really hilarious Easter Egg right at the end, where there's a flash of a "disclaimer" screen.

First off, would someone please explain to me why, in the age of digital streaming, I have to pay late fees for the movies I rent. I'm a responsible person, I pay my taxes. Seriously, I'm not trying to be a dick about this. I really want to know. It seems to me that the only competitive advantage these rental stores have over the internet is face-to-face customer service. So why are you working so hard to make me not want to talk to you, just because I kept Da In Real Life a couple extra days. There were a lot of special features, and I didn't ask my daughter for a blu-ray player not to see them all. Oh, and by the way? What happened to the days when these rental jockeys would actually WATCH the movies they have, so they could give you recommendations instead of just standing there like "Duh doy, yeah. I guess there's probably nudity in Dan In Real Life." Well, guess what, Chelsea. THERE ISN'T. That Juliette Binoche though. Va-va-VA-va-VOOM. That's one frozen pizza that gets my oven going at 350 degrees. Anyway, hit me up on the comment side, unless you're a hater. Or catch me on twitter at @leonard_GCC. And remember: see something, say something. Watch something.

Community was awesome...too bad it seems like it is too little too late to save it.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

I don't trust NBC. Until it's announced when it's returning to their lineup, I'm assuming that it's gone.

I dont either but I think there has been enough outcry from fans that they wont cancel it. Either they will cancel some other show and move Community to a new night or they move the new one "Up All Night" to a new night and put Community back to Thursday (which is what I am hoping for). That would make a heck of a Thursday lineup with Community, Parks and Rec, Office and 30 Rock. If the do outright cancel it hopefully they at least release the rest of the season online or something.

If you've ever been in any kind of fantasy sports league, The League is awesome. Just finished up season 2.

And I guarantee at some point, fantasy sports players have felt like this (NSFW, language):

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Well. That's one ****ing stupid twist down. How many more before we get to the awesome ending?

(That's kind of how SOA seems to function. Great finales, but always at least one dumb plot twist.)

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

That's it?!?!?!? Are you kidding me?

It was a really good season overall, but that was such a letdown of an ending. I'm still waiting for something to actually happen.

I feel the exact same way. Looks like next season will just be one big continuation of this past one as they managed to answer absolutely nothing.

Season 3 has been kind of a disappointment. It don't think it helped that they had to show their pretty crappy season premiere one week after an amazing episode of Archer, but I just couldn't get into this season and have pretty much given up on it.

I dont watch the League..but I am curious which episode of Archer you are talking about. I have loved them all. I didnt get a chance to see the 3 part mini story back in September though. Season 2 comes out on DVD Dec 27th by the way. Already planning on spending some Christmas money on that.

The 3-part mini-series was on the weeks preceding the S3 debut of The League.

It was pretty awesome. You'd do well to find it somewhere.

My hope is that they release it on dvd or finally put in on the fx website or hulu. I dont really trust torrents or anything like that.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Just watched the SoA finale. I feel the same way, there was never the big ending like there was in past seasons. It was still a very good season, and I actually didn't mind the plot twist with the cartel in the finale, I thought it made sense. It definitely has the feeling like next season is just going to be a continuation, this storyline apparently didn't fit in one season.

I'm wondering if they hurried the season due to the end of the lockout (since they do kinda relate to the actual NFL schedule, and also it'd be kinda silly to have a show about FFL if the NFL isn't happening). I did note a downturn in season 2, there were more "mehs" than in season 1, but the laughs were bigger. Rankings Slave, the Kegel Elf "I lost!" rant, etc were hilarious.

I could do without Taco's songs, though.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

I think I might actually agree with Kepler about Modern Family. Hadn't watched it before, recorded it the past few weeks, have now seen 4 episodes, really doesn't seem like anything special.

Re: TV Shows VII: Who gets canceled next?

Survivor update: Bye Bye Cochran. However, you certainly gave Ozzy a run for his money on that duel.

In addition, in a twist of irony, for the 70th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attacks, the author of Pearl Harbor Ghosts appeared on the show. Yes, it was the loved ones episode.
