Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Seriously, how many chances is Matthew Perry going to get to find another show that lasts more than a season? I enjoyed Studio 60 and do think it should have been given a chance to find itself, but Mr Sunshine and now this new show...idk

Tonight's Suits is beyond good. I'm actually beginning to like Louis.

Yeah, I'm beginning to like him too. And it inspires faith that an actor who looks like a rat can find steady work in Hollywood. He's one of those "Hey, it's that guy" character actors. Now finding himself in a steady, pretty meaty role.

If 30 Rock hadn't debuted at the same time (and wasn't it airing just before Studio 60) I think it would have had a fighting chance. But, viewers wanted the quirky comedy over the hour long drama of what goes on "behind the scenes of a sketch variety show."

Studio 60's real problem, at least for me, was that the sketch comedy just wasn't all that funny. Given how often any of the sketch comedy shows miss on any one scene that isn't a surprise.

I knew it had potential but it was too expensive to be given a chance to find itself.

Wait, did Minneapolis really have a festival for Fringe? I didn't think anyone watched that show...didn't it get pushed to Friday nights last season? I can't believe that many people are THAT interested in it.

The Fringe Festival has nothing to do with a TV show, it's an art, theatre, spokenword, stoytelling festival, all live performance stuff.

Yuck. Sounds like some stupid hippie, uptown ****. I hate that stuff. I'm glad the closest I got to it was reading the headline on twincities.com.

Shocking...

If AMC is going to keep telling me that you can't see Hell on Wheels on Dish Network, the least they could do is also give me Dish Network's phone number so I can sign up.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

I've enjoyed The Newsroom so far but my one concern is that in 7 episodes they have covered over a year in time. The most recent episode took place May of 2011. At that rate they will be up to present day at the end of the season and I could see them having trouble finding worthy newstories to center an episode around.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Yeah! Eff culture! Unless there us a ton of twangy crap involved, of course. :)

I have fallen if the grid with television. Mostly Olympics and Twins lately.
I'm probably rippable on culture, but I find that stuff excruciatingly boring, and I'm going to put myself through that.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

That's fine. I don't expect anyone to.

For the record, I also think that spoken word BLOWS.

Unless it's Henry Rollins' spoken word. That is awesome. (I know it's different, but that is what he calls it). His music sucks, but he's one hilariously intelligent guy.

Saw the preview for Elementary (CBS' pathetic attempt at a Sherlock clone). Not impressed at all.
