Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

New series coming to USA, Graceland, looks like it might be fun.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Just marathoned "Californication" S5.

Wow, for every comedic high (whether it was light or dark comedy) there was a tough dramatic moment, providing great balance to the show. I had my doubts about the quality of the season, given the direction it starts off in (it's a couple years later, Hank is in NY, and Karen/Becca are in LA, where Karen has a husband), but it still delivered quality. Can't wait until S6.

Old news!!!!

:)
Need to watch that today. Sad to see it go.

Me too. Loved that show. The only thing that is puzzling is
I don't think they ever got around to dealing with the case linked to Nate's son's death. It quickly became about the heist from the Interpol server. Did they ever wrap up that story? I may need to watch it again because I don't remember

No they didn't, which surprised us.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Watched the entire Breaking Bad series in embarrassingly record time via Netflix, then found the first half of season 5 online and watched that. I wish I had gotten into the show earlier, but at the same time it was really easy to breeze through every episode and get the whole story right away rather than waiting four years. Maybe I'm still caught up in the excitement, but barring a disastrous ending I think this has to be one of the greatest tv shows of all time.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Finally (more or less) caught up on TV.

Anyone else watch Wedding Band on TBS? Kinda crappy, but kinda funny.

Yes, I've been watching it, and I have the same exact opinion. But I think it's done on purpose, so people don't try to take the show seriously.

As for Token Black Man on the show, I realized how I knew his face the other day. He was the "operator" for the Nebakaneezer in the last two Matrix movies and the yoga instructor that dies in one of the Dead Like Me episodes. I looked up his information on IMDB after the fact, and I had no idea that the guy was over 50. He looks like he's in his 30's, early 40's at the most.

And he was on Lost.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALT!

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

What are everyone's thoughts on Downtown Abbey? In know season two makes its U.S. debut on PBS Sunday. I've heard good things about it, but I don't know if its too soap opera-ish.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

It's season three actually. The first season was treated as a mini series. At least that's the category it was entered in for awards season. I have not watched it yet but I feel I need to.

OK. I think I'll give it a look.

I do hear that Sherlock series 3 is filming in March with a shot at being out by Christmas. I'm going through withdrawal because I crave new episodes.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

So, now that I FINALLY got around to watching the season finale of Burn Notice... is Michael back in the CIA? And that's what Fiona is all upset about? Seems a bit implausible, but it's good TV so I'll go with it.

It appears so (though I am sure there is more to it) I would guess his taking down of the rogue CIA agent was enough to put him back in. I think the 'Fiona is mad because he is back in" angle is stupid because they already did it.

Actually, what I really want to know is, what happened to Fiona's accent? It's jarring hearing "Should we shoot them?" in (Gabrielle Anwar's credible attempt at) an Irish accent during the intro to every episode, and then in the show she just has a generic American accent.

Which is even odder, given that she's a British actress.

Michael called her on it in the 2nd episode of the series (when she changed it). She said since she was living in America she didn't want to go around sounding like "a leprechaun"
