Wait, hold on. There's a TV show called Beer Geeks? How has nobody brought this to my attention already?

Is this the one where the found the ancient Egyptian yeast and used it to brew a beer from the style of that time? Then they got people to drink it. If I'm thinking the of the right show, it's pretty fun. Three or four master brewers get into beer way beyond what I'll ever need to know.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Never heard of it. When is it on? Sounds interesting...

It was on like late Sunday evenings on one of the local stations. I'm not sure if they're going to do another season. Basically it was like a Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives except they went around to all the local brewers/brewpubs and showed off their big shiny tanks and the types of beers that they made.

Here's their webpage: http://beergeeks.tv/

Channel 45. Sundays at 11.

It's on repeat now but it sounds like they have been reupped for a second season. This time coast to coast.

Local Twins Cities TV did give us this gem.

On your list of things you probably couldn't see on broadcast TV anymore:

Person of Interest

I'm going to give this another try. I liked it up to the "Russian mobster Brooklyn projects" episode (which I loved). Then I let it go for awhile and I couldn't face playing catchup for all those episodes. (Even when I watched I would fast forward through all the scenes with the lady cop -- couldn't stand her, had no use for her. She was like the son on "The Cape.")

Amazing Race I watch for the travel porn, but I don't think it's trash. If nothing else Phil gives me a sample of manhood to aspire to. I could have said that better.

Survivor is pure, unadulterated trash but like a series of terrible paperbacks after you've read the first dozen you have to play out the string to justify your investment. :D

If you're wondering how he eats and breathes and other science facts (La la la),
Just repeat to yourself "it's just a show, I should really just relax."

I'm absolutely amazed anyone can still show Blazing Saddles, censored or not. If that movie was released today there would be protests for the next three months.

But we're perfectly fine with a 6-year-old beauty pageant entrant getting her own show and saying "a dollar make me holler."

Also the original "Producers". But "it's my body and I'll exploit it if I want to!" so anything goes, as long as you don't offend an oppressed group.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

The next Doctor Who episode deals with Dinosaurs on a spaceship and an Egyptian queen. Please let this person be a surprise part of the episode. He was awesome in Pyramids of Mars.

Best new show on television and it's not even close.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Been catching up on a lot of stuff I've got DVR'd and haven't had time to watch. Just watched the first episode of The Newsroom. Loved it. Thought it was brilliant.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Encore will be showing "Shogun," which is a mini-series, starting Sept 17. An awesome mini-series (and book). I highly recommend it.
