My point was it's a show. You chimed in, and IMO, overthought the party designation of FU. I'm sitting back, just thinking, "It's a show, don't wear the tinfoil hat!" That's all. I mean, "Wag The Dog" is a great movie, and no one cares who's Rep or Dem. It's just a good movie. I'd like to think the same of HoC. That's all. Check your politics at the door.

Take this to heart: no matter if we disagree or agree, we all good. You don't get vicious with me and vice versa. We may disagree, but we respect. We always good, man. :)

FWIW, this was exactly the point I had in mind. I think they were right to avoid the entire problem by casting the way they did.

Ironically there's a perfect example of a show where FU could be either party and it wouldn't make a difference. The original, and to drive the point home I don't even recall whether Francis Urquhart was Tory or Labour. Likewise, it wouldn't have mattered in the States in the 70's if you had made him either D or R (though in the 70s they would have pussed out and invented two completely fictitious parties, to not risk anything).

In this environment, if they had made FU a Republican about half the country would have missed out on a good show because it would have been hoovered up into the usual stupid narratives. By making him a Dem, in this climate, they avoided the whole thing.

If you want an example of the converse to soothe the BSABSVR, if there was a show about, say, a prominent atheist, if you made him a liberal it would never get off the ground because all the idiots on both sides already have their cannon aimed to fight over that. Make him a conservative and poof, the problem disappears.

That's all I was saying and unless I miss my guess all Gurtholfin was saying, too.

Finished American Crime. American Crime was a pile of dung. What a horrible show. Not one redeeming character in the entire lot.

Person of Interest premieres May 3rd. Very sad that this show is coming to an end. Best show out there. Not sure what happened to the ratings but they must have tanked.

No, skimmed most of it. The first couple posts I read, then knew where that train was headed. After that, I read FU could've been and then skipped to the next post... and then the next and so on and so forth.

I loved both seasons as well. Amazon obviously gives them a good budget cause it is a high quality show.

The OJ miniseries was very strong, beginning to end. Ito's reax to the 4 hour deliberation was exactly what I assumed the real reaction was.

In Vinyl, the playing out of the scene where Richie has to bring the mob in was brilliant.

Bo Dietl's portrayal of Joe Corso makes for tense times in the household. Dr. Mrs. despises him. She has had first hand experience with him at DIA/NIU and also back in her TSA days. She regards him as a sort of dumb version of Sarah Palin. I always taunt her that when Drumpf is president Dietl will be Secretary of Homeland Security.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: It's a Netflix half-hour (give or take) comedy series around a woman who's freed from an underground bunker where she and three other women were held as, more or less, prisoners of a cult leader who'd abducted them. The humor is largely goofy, though there are some poignant moments in it. I'm only through three or four episodes so far, but I'm enjoying it. Carol Kane sort of steals her fair share of scenes. Jane Krakowski is acceptable as a main supporting character, but I've never much cared for her; admittedly, she has a few good moments in the show.

season 2 is coming soon right? My wife and I enjoyed watching that for a goofy laugh.

I don't know when season 2 is coming, other than it'll be this year. I do know that Netflix ordered seasons 2 and 3 based upon how well season 1 was received.
