Today's spin-off: Superman & Lois on the CW. It will star Tyler Hoechlin & Elizabeth Tulloch.

Watched bull tonight because I couldn’t find the remote as I was dumping laundry on the bed. It wasn’t... completely offensive. I didn’t mind it. I think it’s like SVU. I don’t need to watch it every week, but I could have it on in the background.

Was that the one supposed to be set during the age of the First Men, or the Targaeryn conquest of Westeros? Those were the two I recall being discussed, but I also remember there were some 6 or 7 series under consideration.

HBO has announced a GoT prequel

<img src="https://i.ibb.co/9p9K3rF/Go-T-prequel.jpg" alt="Go-T-prequel" border="0" height="400"></a>

The series is co-created by George RR Martin and Ryan Condal. Miguel Sapochnik will partner with Condal as showrunner and will direct the pilot and additional episodes. Condal will be writing the series

ETA:
A prequel series based on the “Game of Thrones” companion book “Fire & Blood” has been ordered straight-to-series at the premium cabler. The series will be titled “House of the Dragon.” Set 300 years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” the series tells the story of House Targaryen. Frequent “Game of Thrones” director Miguel Sapochnik will direct the pilot and additional episodes.

Finished S3 of Big Mouth. The two-part finale (3.09-3.10) was absolutely wonderful.

Yeah, I think that was the first men. Really old, a thousand years or more before the GoT events, early Starks and Lannisters.

Is that about Valyria, or even before them?

Saw an ad for Red Moon. I really hope the OTL Russians take the hint and go to Mars. Or Proxima Centauri.

Another "what if the Soviets won the space race" TV series?

Yes. I like the concept -- we lose the moon so we get even more hyped up, throw NASA into overdrive, and plan to explore the universe. Muthaf-cka yes!

That's twice the US has lost by winning.

Re: TV: A Succession of Watchmen in The Good Place

So it is the Apple TV series then. I wasnt too sure about it yet. I kinda liked the trailers, but it felt like it was copying too much of The Man in the High Castle (which, I guess is similar to 11.22.63 and whatever that NBC show was that dealt with time travel/alternate history (Jesus there's a huge genre of dystopian "what-if" "historic" TV)).

I'll probably try to watch it if I get the AppleTV+ subscription just because I enjoy NASA related shows (JAG S1E19 is one of my favorites, and I hated that FOX cut the Corbin Bernsen NASA show "The Cape" so quickly.)

The irony about this is the TV version of The Man in the High Castle didn't copy The Man in the High Castle. It's like the movie version of The Princess Bride* -- they took the setting but they (intentionally) left the meaning behind as unsaleable.

Fan boys and anti-intellectual Handies don't get your knickers in a twist, I'm right there with you; I love the movie of TPB. It is a completely different thing and not a scratch on the original but wonderful in its own way. In fact I think it's an elaborate joke by Goldman to illustrate one of the fundamental points of the "real" TPB, which is of course the tale by S. Morgenstern, and has never published. And I am still waiting for Buttercup's Baby.

I remember back in the day when the whole season of The Cape was on late late at night. I would watch it cause I was an insomniac. It was enjoyable for what it was :)
