TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Nic Pizzolatto is quoted saying this about season 2 of True Detective: "OK. This is really early, but I’ll tell you [it’s about] hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system." I don't know what the secret occult history of the US transportation system is... It sounds like the next season will have female leads, from the articles I'm reading, which piece together hints and quotes from the creators. I already can't wait for the next season.

edit: There are also rumors that Brad Pitt is being courted for the lead in season 2. So that goes against the last article that said 2 female leads.

There could be 3 or 4 lead characters. It's rare for that to happen, but it does. Just look at Game of Thrones, each separate story line essentially has a single lead in it.

Ok, a more serious response.

I don't see it happening here, just because detectives/cops usually work as partners. When you get more than 2 then that gets muddled. There is a good dynamic between partners that I don't think they'll want to lose. If anything, I could see the show going to a single lead for a season. If they go to more than 2 leads, then I think that only 2 are the detectives, still, with others being important, lead type characters, that are not the detectives.

If its a transportation system story, there could be 3-4 "leads" with 2 stories that diverge at the end with 2 separate groups joining up after reaching similar conclusions from different places...etc

Plus, it doesnt say he is the cop. He could be a major player in another way. Or maybe he is their Lt. Maybe he is the killer.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

I looked it up after about episode 6. It seems like it is just being used as some kind of nod to the book from back in the day, with some symbolism thrown in. I really need to go through and watch them all again. I want to see stuff that I missed the first time. I should just marathon it some Saturday.

Pizzolatto also said somewhere in an interview, that about 85% of everything you needed to know to figure out the murder case was revealed in the first episode.

Suits is back...and man have the first two episodes been excellent :)

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Burned through S1 of House Of Cards this week (re-watch). Catching a lot of little things that I dismissed that are huge in S2. Dismissed as in I didn't think they meant anything to the actual story.

Two little spoilers:

The Galloway pic of Claire, and Tusk talking with the Chinese when Frank is sent out to vet Tusk.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Watched the finale of Black Sails, and it's caused me to revise my opinion a bit. While I still don't think it's great, it got pretty good over the past few episodes, and now has me definitely interested in where they'll go in the second season. Looks like it could get really good.

At the time, I knew the pic of Claire was going to come back at some point, but I had forgotten about it by the time I got to season two.

I also remember Tusk speaking Chinese...but completely dismissed it at the time.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Yeah, Walking Dead was a bit intense last night.
Darryl and Carol rule that show. As brutal as it was, I don't see how Carol had any other choice in the situation they were in.
I'm really wanting to find out what the hell happened to Beth, but I doubt we see her again this season, with only 2 episodes left.

I made the comment to my fiance after last night's episode, that they need to rejoin some of these groups soon. The show timeline moves so slow when they take an entire episode to follow one group and then take the next 3 to follow 3 different groups over that same timeline. It takes 4 episodes to cover the same amount of time as it would when the group was 1.

Lastly, I imagine the smoke/fire was significant, given how many times they mentioned it and showed it. At first I thought it was the cabin that Beth and Darryl burned, but then the smoldering walkers showed up, and that wouldn't make sense, since there weren't any walkers in that cabin.

Anyone else watch Crisis? Pretty good. The new formula seems to be the intense **** is always hitting the fan thrill ride like The Blacklist and The Following.

I don't see how Carol would have any other choice and I'm glad that the show continues to be brave enough to have that happen. Lizzie was creeptastic - the little freak.

I figured that the smoke must be from the cabin except that the cabin shouldn't have burned for that long. It spanned two days (or more?).

As far as the walkers go, a few showed up once they lit the fire and Beth and Daryl saw them and then skinned out of there because of them.

What exactly changed your mind? I've thought its been good most of the season and building towards this...

I dunno. At first the loyalties jumping around and changing sides so rapidly was just off-putting, gave me hints of Vampire Diaries and The Originals. And there just wasn't much story of interest there. Once they got down to actually going after the treasure galleon, it got a lot better, more focused. Started moving towards a goal instead of running in place. Again, from the beginning I thought it was ok, but just not as compelling as I expected it to be. Now maybe it's getting there.

As far as Walking Dead, I thought maybe they just might leave her there. Let her fend for herself, get "changed". But I guess if you need the dirty jobs done, just leave it up to Carol. I thought the smoke was from the cabin as well. Maybe someone's having a zombie bonfire?
