Re: tUMD @ UMTC: Fire Lucia and hire Hill!
Come on. Give em' a little more credit. It was a little puck luck that the puck wasn't flat so Fontaine could fire it immediately (Or maybe one could give a really wild explanation that it just wasn't a perfect pass to him.). Same thing that happens at several points in any game. Wasn't a failure on Fontaine's part. Just like I agree that the Hoeffel "slash" wouldn't have been called if the D hadn't skated in and snapped his stick. No different from what players do a few times a game to pressure a goalie in every game. Even the lucky bounce, only happened because they were coming to the net. Sure, a bounce here or there and the game is different, but that is hockey and we have to accept they played well enough to beat a very good team. And on a Friday night at home, no less. Let's not go all Scooby, and just enjoy that they won.
And Sunday has been their day, so maybe this will be the weekend with two strong games? Hope they can stay out of the box as UMD is a bit much to handle with the Gophs less than impressive PK.
I'm not to excited about the delay, as I knew I had tonight clear to watch the game with a beverage in hand. Sunday afternoons are harder on the domestic front, and the beverage is out with a game to play later on. I thought things were supposed to calm down by afternoon?
The Cities must have gotten the Snownamia that was predicted?
If Fontaine hadn't counted to two before shooting at a wide open net, your team would have completed a comeback and likely would have won in OT.
Now that we got the one game of effort out of MN this weekend, I fully expect game two to feature lethargic suckitude.
