I normally would be happy with 3 points on the road but not this time. The way we choked away a point on Saturday and based on how we have played against MSU in the past it hurts. Losing that extra point hurts, but our weekend against Michigan Tech put our MacNaughton hopes on ice.
While its not over yet for the MacNaughton, there is still a chance.
It was a good series overall and I have a feeling MSU will be making another trip to Duluth for playoffs.

If it make anyone feel any better, an outright MacNaughton Cup Champion has not won the National Championship since Northern Michigan in 1991, so I'd say UMD is right where they need to be! (There have been Co-Champions on two occasions since then and in both of those years one of those teams won the National Championship)

I hate being right.
Although I am happy we are facing MSU rather than UAA. UAA has been a pesky team against us and our record against MSU is something like 11-1-2 in our last 14.
Great point about the MacNaughton HumRsky. Enjoy the curse UMTC!
Plus look at the positive, I thought we would be 5th to 7th this year. Home ice was not an assumption. We beat our expectations and were three points from the cup. The biggest killers was the MTU and UAA series. There is three points we could have had. There was six total points we should have had but let us slip away. Second place in the twelve team WCHA? I'll take it! Great accompliment for this team.
Sounds like the team is getting mohawks...
