God, that's getting awfully squishy. I don't know... I would say resignation after a pretty clear failure or series of failures qualifies. However, I think it has to be leaving the administration. Getting demoted as Handy mentioned isn't equivalent to getting fired or "resigning to tweet more" or moving to Fox or News Nation.

Castration (Waltz) is painful, but it's not the same as defenestration (Scaramucci).
