TRP: Sloppy Seconds & Leftovers

Re: TRP: Sloppy Seconds & Leftovers

No raise again this year. At least I'm getting a bonus.

That sucks.

I was excited because I got my 5 year present already (worried I may get laid off this month...5 year date is middle of the month). My mom asks me what I got, I told her "a camping stove". She thought I was joking. I guess some companies give people money. My company our "Holiday bonus" is usually a lightweight jacket or blanket with the company logo on it. In comparison, my camp stove seemed cool to me.

For our 5 year/10 year/whatever year milestones we get to choose something off of a list. I don't think money is an option, but I've heard that the gifts are quite nice. I still have 3 years until I find out.

For bonuses, they're always money and they vary directly by how the company's performance compares to the goals. Last year we were in line for huge bonuses until Q4, and still ended up with a decent check. This year the goals were set very low, since they knew the economy would suck balls, and they don't try to screw over employees, which is cool. I think we're still in line for a small bonus, but I'm not expecting much.

No raises last year(we actually get our raises in july, for some reason...) its still too early to know what will happen next july.

bb_dl, I thought of a new song for you to woo the ladies with.

Ever heard Big Green Tractor by Jason Aldean? :D

Re: TRP: Sloppy Seconds & Leftovers

No 2010 merit increases. No chance I'll lose my job though. Likely will have a different title on Jan 1 with different responsibilities. I'm very lucky.

Re: TRP: Sloppy Seconds & Leftovers

More like shocked. I figured they'd give me a $25 gift card to Target and the finger.

That is rather big media like. A few years ago, no bonuses and a $75 gift card to target. Two years ago a magical $250 bonus. Last year - nothing and I lost my job.

This year they're apparently throwing a huge Christmas party with prizes and whatnot and free booze - something they never did. The Dunder Mifflin stockholder meeting episode of The Office actually does mimic real life.

"Random" and "pointless" are not the same thing. I'm just saying. :p
Are you trying to claim the posts in this thread have a point? :p

A camp stove is pretty cool, beats a number of other gifts I've heard of.

I haven't been at Dickinson State long enough for a 5 year gift yet. Last year the 30 year people got a rocking chair or cash, their choice.

At Valdosta State I got a small piece of polished marble with the Valdosta State logo on it for my 5th year.

Re: TRP: Sloppy Seconds & Leftovers

No, I'm just pointing out that the title doesn't preclude them from having a point.

LAWYERED. :D
As long as you don't charge me $500 for the two minutes of lawyering I really don't care :p

This is a good song and it should work, bbdl...

I found out today that I am should have gotten a raise 3 months ago...I should get the backpay from that on either this next paycheck or the next. :)
