Re: TRP: Holidays and New Years Resolutions

Cheese-eating Surrender Monkey?
You know what I never got? Why is "cheese-eating" an insult? Practically every single one of us eats cheese, and it's almost universally agreed-upon that you can melt cheese on just about anything and make it better.

Re: TRP: Holidays and New Years Resolutions

It always seemed as if my first name was relatively popular, however, I was the only Molly in my high school at all while I was there. (Granted that wasn't a huge number, but still) My middle name is less common, and the only person I know of with it is a chick off of the Real World who has it as her first name. (Johanna) My last name is Swedish, and it's made famous by a fantastic NHL player, and I know a few up here, but am related to all of them, except the ones from Ontonogan.
Edit: I believe every google result is me.
I was almost Kylie Joelle.
I ended up being called Molly Jo for the first 7 or 8 years of my life.
You know at least one other person... :)
Johanna was my great grandmother's name.
My last name isn't exactly what my grandparents came over from Norway with, but we know it was close. The only problem was that we couldn't read the writing on the papers my grandpa had to see the original.

Because they produce and eat a lot of cheese in France. Wisconsin and California have nothing on what those guys produce over there.

Re: TRP: Holidays and New Years Resolutions

You mean like my mother? ;) :p

Though making fun of her family for being from there to their face is a lot of fun...:D

my mom was born and raised there. Aside from her family, she hates everything about Wisconsin. She hates the Badgers, hates the Packers, hates the Brewers, hates Miller Lite, hates anything related to Milwaukee, and hates fat people. :D

Welcome to the MN State Fair - except we call them Pig Lickers. Well, Famous Dave's calls them that, and we just go along with the flow.

and eat them in numerous bunches because they are so uber tasty. And they are available in Colorado. Coors Field has a Famous Daves stand in left field and they sell them there. Quiz and I get a batch every Rockies game we go to. Everyone asks us if they are good.

And their cheese doesn't come shredded or in a block that says "Velveeta". :o

And that was only about half of it, and then there were the deli cases and endcaps in the deli area. Literally THOUSANDS of cheeses. It was incredible.

I guess not everyone gets to experience the finer things in life. :D
Actually, Burger Jones's white trash burger, with a slab of velveeta was one of the best burgers I've ever had....

That is a load of crap. Wisconsin does produce a lot of the mass produced cheeses people purchase at the grocery store but there are wonderful cheeses that are just as good or better than anything from France...
Widmar Specialty Brick (my personal favorite)
Marieke Gouda
Stravecchio Parmesan
Black River Gorgonzola
Carr Valley Mobay
Deppeler Baby Swiss

Oh, I agree. I tried some downright amazing stuff while I was in New Glarus this summer, definitely on par with what I had over there. I think, however, in terms of sheer volume, France has the advantage there (as one would expect, pitting a nation vs. a state)

... and? Cheese is good. So what if they eat a lot of it?

Because Willie says so.

Burger Jones, while very good, is overpriced.

Re: TRP: Holidays and New Years Resolutions

American cheese with scrambled eggs. Let's see the French do that!
