Trouble at Boston Marathon?

Am on Amtrak along MA/NY border. Was on phone with my mom but got cut off. When I tried to redial I got a message saying it was for emergency only. Supposed to be in Boston in 5 hours...I don't think that is going to happen.

A federal law-enforcement source told The Post there are at least 12 dead and nearly 50 injured. Fox News reported that Massachusetts General Hospital was treating 10 people with amputated limbs and all operating rooms were on hold.

Law-enforcement sources said at least the first explosion occurred in the lobby of the Fairmont Hotel.

"There were two bombs that exploded near the finish line in today's Boston Marathon," The Boston Marathon's official Facebook page read. "We are working with law enforcement to understand what exactly has happened."

According to reports, authorities in Boston found a third explosive device that had not gone off and police were going to perform a controlled explosion. The airspace above the city was ordered cleared as well.

article also includes some speculation that perhaps the NY Marathon may have been original target, as you may recall NY Marathon was cancelled due to Sandy flooding....

If there's one thing I have learned, it's this: When it comes to the American government, always cover the weak side. Look, I'm sorry to hear this happened, but it's important to ignore distractions that cause for very dangerous actions by the government. Life will keep going.

I understand. I'm more annoyed with people on Twitter already trying to scam others by saying click here to give money to the victims. That's what annoys the bleep out of me.

NBC reporting eyewitnesses seeing packages up against a building before the explosions. Mind you this is still all unverified and secondhand.

Edit: Also something about bomb technicians doing controlled explosions on additional devices?

I just saw several reports that two more explosive devices were found and are being dismantled.

I just saw more speculation that they have a suspect in custody. I guess we'll have a clearer picture tomorrow.

Subway service suspended into / out of downtown Boston apparently.
