Transfer Portal 2025

Quietly, the University of Minnesota Duluth trembling chihuahuas have done a nice job with the portal with their two latest acquisitions bringing their total to 5.

Certainly not the fanfare for a certain month that starts with an A that was promised elsewhere but nevertheless, they have made some nice additions to their lineup.

They already have up on the web site a preliminary roster for 2025-26. 12 players listed, plus their five transfers and five incoming freshmen not yet listed. So a roster of 22. They have some room for another couple transfers, if they were to choose. Only two goalies right now, if I'm not mistaken.

They have a freshman goaltender coming in, named Villanueva, who committed in March. Gascon will probably get somewhere close to every game.
 
Reflecting back...

We had this declaration from TPWSNBN. "April is going to be awesome.GO BUCKs."

I mean, they did get a transfer from toothpaste so there is that. Plus, there was also some supposed "insider" information that a certain goaltender from the aints was headed their way. And something maybe even more interesting...It was put out there on GPL, as a rumor, that Abbey Murphy was going to tansfer from the tunnelers to the yuckeyes for her final year.

Maybe that stuff was were the awesome was supposed to be?

I was wondering if there would be any "April has come to its end" posts, or would everyone think, "Nah, that's too easy".

The aints goalie supposedly withdrew from the portal.

Surprised that Skylar hasn't been picked up yet. Seems like a logical get, given her overall record.
 
Don't know what the nature of her injury was. The challenge with goaltenders is that even if a program likes the player, they need to have a goalie slot available. Teams can always find room for a quality forward, but in net, it's more complicated.
