Tragedy for the Humboldt Broncos

Deeply saddened by this horrible tragedy. I can't imagine what the families are going through.

Does anyone know if there were any D-1 commits on the team? I know the Saskatchewan league is considered to be a lower level than the BCHL, OPJHL, etc.

Re: Tragedy for the Humboldt Broncos

Extremely sad...this affects all of us who love this sport. My sympathies to all affected and especially to the families and loved ones of those killed or injured.

Re: Tragedy for the Humboldt Broncos

per Chris Heisenberg's list there is one player committed to Northern Michigan.

I don't see any there. On the SJHL page, there is one listed as committed to MTU, Mitch Newsome, but he is no longer committed to MTU and he never played for Humboldt according to his page on Elite Prospects.

Agreed. I think that I have received more than 200 tweets from all sorts of hockey teams and people.

Re: Tragedy for the Humboldt Broncos

simply a sad, sad day for the hockey world. A team of young men full filling personal dreams in the sport that we all love, and to be ended by a tragic accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the players, coaches, families, and all others connected to this heartbreaking incident.

Really sad day for hockey.

There were a lot of good players coming out of the SJHL to play Div 1 back in the 80s and early 90s.

This is heartbreaking beyond words. Been praying hard for those lost, those who need healing and comfort for those who lost their loved ones.

Re: Tragedy for the Humboldt Broncos

Unbelievably sad news... I pray for the families, friends and fans of the men that lost their lives and I pray for the survivors who will deal with emotional scars long after the physical ones heal.

Re: Tragedy for the Humboldt Broncos

Clarkson's Greg Moro played for them for three seasons.

The GoFundMe campaign just passed $1,000,000.

One should rarely trust the very early reports. Looks like the tweet I saw confused Northern MI and MI Tech and confused future player with former player. Sad news in either situation.

Re: Tragedy for the Humboldt Broncos

This is such a horrible tragedy. My heart is breaking for the team's families/friends/fans/opponents. The bus trips are something I always think about when my beloved Colgate women's and men's hockey teams take to the road. Thinking of those in Humboldt.
