Should I just say BC wins and move on HA! Throwing around some predictions, feel free to add yours or give opinions!
First Round -
Uconn, New Hampshire, Northeastern win. I have very little basis, just going off results and gut. I do think NH has played some teams very tough this year and looks like they may be on the rise from the struggles of the last several years. Northeastern always seems streaky, but they find ways to compete in the big games. No clue on UConn v Vermont, but not sure that game matters considering their next opponent will almost certainly blow them out.
Quarters -
BC wins in a snoozer
Providence over UMass - This one to me if the most interesting quarterfinal. UMass has played some very tight games in the 2nd half and almost seems a little snake bit. Providence seems a bit up and down in terms of results in the 2nd half. Not sure if either team has much momentum coming in. If I'm seeing this right the only meeting between these two was back in November which was a UMass sweep in a home and home. I'll say UMass has the better of the play, but a bad bounce will end their season.
Maine wins over NH - I think Maine might have righted the ship just in time. Pretty big sweep of UMass last weekend and they'll have their confidence going into the playoffs. NH is pesky, but Maine gets it done.
BU will thump Northeastern. BU reminds me very much of the Gophers last year. They got a taste of the FF the year prior and with experience and hunger to get back there I don't think we'll see any sleepiness come playoff time.
Semi's
BC will again handle whoever comes their way in this game. However, things will change in the final...
BU v Maine - this could be a great hockey game if Maine returns to form. For all the reasons I previously mentioned about BU, I think they get it done. Something like 4-2 with an ENG.
Final
BC v BU - Instant classic if it gets to this. Here is where I think tables turn from the regular season. BU's playoff experience edges out the young guns. 4-3 in OT on a Lane Hutson blue line special. I'll also add that BC losing this game will actually work to their advantage as a learning/coaching opportunity that helps them find their way to the FF.
