Before the 17th the State legislatures picked Senators.
Is it time to repeal the 17th Amendment?
We have one body with direct election (The House) already. Is direct election of Senators doing anything more or better than that now?
Would we be better off if Senators were more beholden to their State legislatures than to "their electorate" (which loosely translates to special interests and Party money and requirements these days)?
What I saw the last two weeks was Senators more worried about Mitch and Chuck than their home states. That doesn't seem right.

And before you say it, I'm not sure it's a good idea. We could end up with Senators even more beholden to Party (as that'd be the plum job chosen by the in power party in each State).
