Tier 1 Elite Hockey League 19U Girls Showcase in New Hampshire

Re: Tier 1 Elite Hockey League 19U Girls Showcase in New Hampshire

HB = Honeybaked?

That it does. Should be a good weekend of hockey, and a great opportunity for the mid-western girls to get some on campus time while they are in the Greater Boston area. A great chance for the girls to also see the 2009-10 edition of the UNH Wildcats as they unofficially open their season with captain's practice on Saturday at Noon.

So does Honeybaked have two teams? The original poster listed:
NJ, BT, HB, VH, Fury, GR, SL, HB, M/W

to which I responded the following:
NJ=New Jersey Rockets
BT=Belle Tire-Detroit
HB=Honeybaked-Detroit
VH=Victory Honda-Detroit
Fury=Chicago Fury
GR=Grand Rapids, MI
SL=St Louis
HB= ?
M/W=Madison/Wild-WI

Just wondering?

The only reason the midwest elite is there is so the Colleges can come
watch the Midwest teams with out traveling to the Midwest? The Shamrocks
are at the right place at the right time. At $1200 for 4 games,how many times
will the Shamrocks come to the Midwest?

Re: Tier 1 Elite Hockey League 19U Girls Showcase in New Hampshire

any whoopie pies at this current event?

NO whoopie pies unless Hux is cooking tonight! Our friends group is having our Season kick off event in the morning, so there will be fruit and bagels if you want to come to our side;)

Unfortunately, the scores were not updated after the Friday night games, and for some reason I could not get online while at UNH to do it myself.

Overall a pretty good weekend of hockey, with a lot of college coaches on hand.

Even more unfortunate is that with the last of the weekend games completed some 5 hours ago, there are still only 5 of 33 games for which Pointstreak has any results. :(

Re: Tier 1 Elite Hockey League 19U Girls Showcase in New Hampshire

Having had to deal with Pointstreak a couple of years ago, if they haven't changed things, it's not Pointstreak's fault. If the terminals aren't at the rinks for real time updating, then someone has to enter the results and upload them to Pointstreak. I suspect that "most" of the results haven't been uploaded. That's the responsibility of whoever was responsible for setting up/organizing the weekend.

I agree. My question wasn't about Pointstreak. The people running the tournament haven't done anything to get the game information loaded. Even today, a full day after the tournament is over, still just 5 game results entered.

There were two people in the press box who were said to have been "in charge" of the tournament at the Whitt. They were on their laptops continuously during the games and were walking quickly back and forth from the press box to the locker room area between each game, so I'm not sure where the breakdown was. I can't imagine they weren't doing tournament related laptop work.

Overall the weekend was a great success for the TOEHL. There were 2 glitches we had to deal with. One was a zamboni breakdown at JFK on Friday night. The other was an issue with Pointstreak. We had two people on-site to input the scores into Pointstreak. Unfortunately, there was an issue both at the arenas and at the hotels when inputting the scores. When the goals and assists were inputted, PS would freeze and go into some sort of infinite loop. A few team managers were able to enter their games, but several others called to say they were having the same issue as our on-site personnel. It was not a good thing for our league, and we need to figure a better way to get the data inputted in a more timely fashion.

We are now working to have the scores inputted and hope to have all in by the end of the day.

If the problem in getting scores updated was indeed with Pointstreak (which appears to be the case), that is a shame. However, in my experience with the T1EHL and formerly with MWEHL, they have been notoriously slow in updating scores. I hope, for the sake of those participating in the league, that those problems are in the past and Pointstreak will be updated in a timely manner (provided Pointstreak decides to cooperate!)

Mr Jones,

Please define success for us, a number of the coaches I spoke with were very disapointer by the level of play. Mission and Caesars are teams they can watch 8-10 times a year in other venues, the level of play outside of those teams was very disappointing. As I understand it a 16U team from Anaheim handily beat 5 of your teams. This wasn't the Assebet 16U team either, your league needs to figure out what it wants to be. Even your name is confusing, Tier One and Elite in the same name. Who are you trying to convince, yourselves.

I think you may have a hard time attracting D1 coaches down the road unless you get back to being a truely elite league.

Re: Tier 1 Elite Hockey League 19U Girls Showcase in New Hampshire

Based on the info posted so far, it appears that the Anaheim Ducks 16U team was the strongest team there. I realize they didn't play either Caesars or Mission, but the fact that a 16U team did beat the 19U teams they did play, says something about the skill of that team and the teams they played.

Funny, because I didn't get that sense at all. While some did say that there were some weak teams, there were also comments that they were seeing players that they hadn't seen before and liked what they saw from a number of players. I also noticed that the coaches stayed and watched all the games on Sunday, so it wasn't about LC or Mission.

Two days after the tournament is over, still nearly half of the game results not entered.
