There is none. But he thinks it makes him look tough against the wokes and the libbies, and so makes him appealable to the braindead dumbfucks who supported Donnie.
I don't think he considers how much of the Donnie appeal was just Donnie, and not so much that he was just an a&&hole to people.
Donnie the a&&hole is one thing, but does Deathsantis the a&&hole carry that same appeal?
The Lincoln Project
@ProjectLincoln
Terrorizing your constituents is hard work. @GovRonDeSantis
just eliminated two black voting districts and screwed the largest employer in his state, all before 3 PM ET. Florida, register to vote and encourage friends and family to do the same. Head to http://vote.org.
The dog caught the car.
I don't get it. What benefit is there to DeSantis if he succeeds in getting rid of Disney?
He isn't going to get rid of it. Disney World is 43 square miles. 25000 acres. About the size of San Francisco. Double Providence, half of Seattle or Boston. It isn't like the Mouse can just up and move. It would take years and cost tens of billions of dollars to relocate. And where would Disney go?
If you're Disney, you announce later this year that because of the current climate, you're reviewing whether to continue operations in Florida with a decision to be made by early next year. DeSantis only won in 2018 by 22,000 votes. Make a few hundred thousand people balance the thought of their jobs leaving versus waving the CRT flag or whatever nonsense he's doing this week to run as TrumpWannabe 2024. Problem might resolve itself.

Doing more research, this might end up saving Bob Chapek's job. By dissolving RCID the state is relieving Disney of over $1 billion in debt and moving it to the residents of Osceola and Orange Counties. Chapek can easily spin this as a huge win for the company. The only downside for Disney is that it no longer controls the land - it is just another property owner. So if a road needs repairs, Disney can't do it itself, it has to ask the county. When it needs a new fire engine it can't just buy one itself, it has to ask the county. And the county has to pay for these things - not Disney. Another victory for the Mouse.
Oh, and early estimates are that the residents of Orange County will see their property taxes go up as much as 25% next year. Way to Own the Libs!
ETA: Looking over the 2018 election data, DeSantis isn't all that concerned with Orange or Osceola counties. He lost both by 20 points. Not exactly key to his re-election campaign.
They can go anywhere they want...
Really? Lots of places have 43 square miles of real estate sitting idle? Preferably near a major transportation hub. With a workforce of 80,000 people ready to hire. And good weather all 12 months of the year.
Yes. It is called Mexico.
(Oh please imaginary being in the sky MAKE THIS HAPPEN.)

Imagine if California Democrats had used control of the state to fiscally punish Hobby Lobby for their political speech over birth control.
