Minnesota gop hints they are gonna run the My Pillow ceo for governor candidate.

good

I mean if they want to concede the Governors Mansion to Walz I am not going to stop them. You would think they would learn with Jason Lewis but hey they prove daily they are not very smart.

Oy...
Thats all I got.

The dumbest people in the country all went to one party.

It's amazing. Fifty years ago the left and right were only divided between kind people and greedy people. Now they are divided between the smart and the stupid.

They want to run the state LIKE A BIDNESS.

Interesting UP tweet. Likely the return volley if the Dems push for DC and PR statehood. Is this the next front with gerrymandering seems to fall out of vogue?

any of our resident michiganeers have any comments?

Tolls northbround on the Mackinac Bridge would probably jump to $20.

Lake State would close immediately. NMU only pulls in about a third of their students from the UP and another third comes from the LP, so they'd see a drop in enrollment. Tech would be in a little more trouble than I thought. About 2/3 of their enrollment comes from the lower peninsula. NMU and Tech would need to set up some type of tuition reciprocity.

So you're saying the rural part of a state that believes it is full of true self-made patriots who could survive on their own with only rain water and gumption would in actuality find themselves in a lot of trouble without help from the cities and suburbs?

Not that I see it ever happening, but if it did, I could see Mackinaw and Chippewa counties staying with the LP (or just half of Mackinaw that would align with the west edge of Chippewa county) just because of the Bridge and SSM.

Annual maintenance is $15 Mil for the bridge. US Census listed the UP as having 311,361 people in 2010. That means each person, including children, would owe at least $50 per year.

I was assuming split ownership, so that would drop to $25 per person.

Still, it would be about as viable as that Northern Colorado secession talk from a few years ago.

It's not happening. Outside of tourism, the UP economy would have to heavily rely on forestry, wood/paper products, and hope for a big copper/iron shortage that would justify restarting most of the mines. It would basically be Cold Kentucky.

I think it would actually be more likely that the western counties (particularly the MI/WI border counties that adhere to Central Time) vote to secede from Michigan and join Wisconsin, thereby turning it from purple to "Lean R" overnight. Not sure if that would be legally possible.

Yeah same would happen if The Range split from The Twin Cities. They ephod be Mississippi with less Black people and more teeth.

I am not making fun of a typo, I learned something cool: an ephod was (in ancient Israel) a sleeveless garment worn by Jewish priests.

It's the vest:

I love "x," which seems pretty clearly to be a placeholder that was left in by mistake. From other pictures I assume it was meant to note the bare feet, as apparently shoes were no bueno.
