The States: Where We Wish Texas Would Secede Already

I think my next push is to get LGBT added to the Elliott-Larsen Act in Michigan. It was recommended by the Michigan Civil Rights Commission, but our Republican-led state legislature keeps killing it in committee.

This is a oft-mentioned item for MI Dem state leg candidates across the board this year.

Wisconsin is a worthless hellhole- not sure why you spent any money there recently

Yeah I read that this morning. It makes good points but even it talks about how Biden is winning they just spin it that it isnt as high as he is elsewhere. (IIRC) Biden is doing better than Hillary did and she still won the state.

The author also ignores that the Iron Range as a whole probably has less people than Duluth and Duluth is not a Trump town.

I think it was atypically sloppy by 538. The statistical data does show a narrowing of the Dem's lead in MN against the US as a whole. However, over a time period in which a native son is on the ticket twice at the beginning, and Dump's 2016 Who The F-ck Knows Fiasco is at the end.

My read on MN is it probably is drifting right given how white it is (15th of 50 by percentage in 2010 -- the other Midwestern states of a similar profile being IA, ND, WI, and SD, are of which all moving right) but we need more data and that also corresponds to The Great Fundy Fraud which worst hit the South, Prairie, and Aryan Nation states. But it is highly educated and has a reasonably large city, which should steam the rot.

They absolutely buried the lede anyways.

A republican hasn't won a state-wide election for any position since 2006. From governor, to senators, to auditor. Not one.

Yep. I havent checked the numbers but I cant see Tina Smith losing either...mainly cause Jason Lewis sucks.

I am not saying it cant happen, it absolutely could. But I will believe it when I see it. We dont even know that the former Blue Wall States that Hillary lost wont flip back. (I think 2 of the 3 are coming back) 2016 could be a blip, or it could be the beginning of a pattern. We wont know until November but 2018 seems to indicate it wasnt the shift a lot of outlets seem to think it was.

Good point but also this is fine... until it isn't. The VA GOP never saw the guillotines coming. I'm not saying MN is the obverse (I do not think it is, I think it is a classic city mouse v country mouse teeter totter like MO and OR used to be, FL is, and GA and TX are about to become) but final flips can happen.

For example, when AZ goes it aint going back. The blue urban population is exploding and the red rural derps are stagnant. The transition phase, which has begun, may only be one full election cycle (6 years) to go from Forever Hard Red to Forever Hard Blue. NM and NV have probably already made the jump.

On the other side, WV went and OH looks like it's close to if not already a lost cause.

This is a really good point. I think it's going to be best to consider Dump a complete anomaly in future trending. Unless he is literally replicated by somebody like Don Jr. the GOP won't hold that shape after he's gone. They will either fall back to their usual plute puppet show, or they will spring forward to full-on George Lincoln Rockwell.

WV went recently because word finally got to them that the Dems passed the CRA. Just took a while.

Ohio I have no idea.

Ohio seems to be a combination of a few things. Jesusf-ckistanization is turning it into Indiana 2.0; Columbus, the one growing city, is turning out like Indianapolis: a hotbed of social rest. And like the entire Rust Belt the smartest 1% of kids take off every year for LA if they're cute or NYC if they're ugly.

He Seems Nice

Rep. Clay Higgins (R-La.) suggested in a Facebook post on Tuesday that armed demonstrators in his state should be met with force, leading the social media platform to remove it for breaking its policies against inciting violence.

In the post on his campaign account, Higgins attached a photo of Black men with guns and wrote: "One way ticket fellas. Have your affairs in order. Me?... I wouldn't even spill my beer. I'd drop any 10 of you where you stand."

"Nothing personal. We just eliminate the threat. We don't care what color you are. We don't care if you're left or right. If you show up like this, if We recognize threat... you won't walk away," Higgins continued.

Higgins further warned people "aggressively natured and armed in my presence" that "that is where your journey will end."

A Facebook company spokesperson confirmed to The Hill that the post from Higgins was removed "for breaking our Violence and Incitement policies."

Higgins also confirmed in a subsequent post that he had not removed his original message.

"No, I did not remove my post. America is being manipulated into a new era of government control. Your liberty is threatened from within," Higgins wrote.

"Welcome to the front lines, Ladies and Gentlemen. I suggest you get your mind right. I’ll advise when it’s time gear up, mount up, and roll out," he added.

You know how big a screw up you have to be to get Facebook to remove your post? It is friggin unheard of these days.

MS inexplicably does the correct thing.

Faced with the choice between these two flags, they picked the right one.

It still has the fairy tale reference, but it doesn't look like a lame MLS badge. Way to go, Magnolia Staters.
