The States : red states in a race to the bottom

That would require the establishment Democrats to willingly give up power, which they won’t do. They’d rather hang until they’re dead, and even then they expect their staffers to Weekend At Bernie’s them for at least six months ala Feinstein.
Yep, I know. They couldn't wait to get rid of David Hogg under DEI pretenses the minute he suggested primarying any centrist fossils, so I'm not holding my breath.

Since it's going to be our job, maybe I'll take Hovey and Mallory McMorrow's advice and just talk to my neighbors more.

Every person I know wishes, a) their income was higher, b) items they need to purchase were cheaper, and c) their lives were more convenient. Any candidate who comes in and promises those things automatically has a leg up. That is inevitable.

The beauty is, there are actually idealists who think they will deliver on their promises. That's a good thing, because it renews people's interest in participating in government.

It is equally inevitable that their idealism will pretty quickly get crushed and ground into dust by reality. Rent isn't going to get slashed. Buses won't operate for free. There aren't going to be municipal grocery stores in NYC.

But that won't deter future idealists from taking their shot, and that's a good thing.

As for the citizenry? The current idealists just become older, wiser, more jaded, more bitter, but still holding onto a seed of this irrational thought the idealism will somehow win out. You know, sort of like a lot of you guys.

Uh, huh. And how much money did we spend on a military parade, and the bombs that shaved only weeks off of Iran's nuclear program?

Every time you clowns tell us there's no money, no resources, no anything we have yet another example of you pissing money into the wind.
