The States: North Dakota is Still the Worst

Re: The States: North Dakota is Still the Worst

There are better Indian places in Minneapolis than those places but those are decent. Lots of transplants here so you can get authentic stuff.

Just as good as the dreck in Cali or DC...and half the price with WAY less pretentiousness :D

(Seattle had the best Indian I ever tried)

To be honest the most pretentious place I've ever been to was in Naperville, IL. A place in Cary, NC was not much better. Real cities don't have to put on airs. It's the wanna-be places where they have to play to the nouveau riche rubes with spit because they have no polish.

Best Indian: DC
Best Chinese: Vancouver
Best Greek: Montreal
Best everything else: New York City

Re: The States: North Dakota is Still the Worst

I have had good Greek food lots of places. (I have a Greek girlfriend ;) )

The key is going places with transplants. The more authentic the staff, the better the food will be. Plus they wont have the ridiculous foodie prices.

Mother is proud!

“A GOP gubernatorial candidate in Mississippi denied access to a female reporter because of her gender, allegedly telling the reporter that a “male colleague would need to accompany her on an upcoming 15-hour campaign trip” because of the “optics of the candidate with a woman, even a working reporter, could be used in a smear campaign to insinuate an extramarital affair.”

You're going to have to spill the name because that's practically my backyard. And I need to know if I've been there or not.

Also, not *all* fly over food is terrible.

And thanks to work, I know of a dozen great Mexican restaurants in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago.

Maybe this one?

Another atrocious one was in Indianapolis on their "steak and bourbon row." I don't remember much about it except it had $100 "prestige" bar drinks which the doughy local business tycoons were ordering for their 30-year younger mistresses. Now that's more entrepreneurial tacky than the Bay Area.

Try to move that sh-t in the east and you'll be through your own picture window Opening Night.

I fish on the river walk in front of that place all the time... It's actually quite a solid fishery on the Riverwalk there :p

Just something about enjoying nature in the middle of Urban Yuppie Habitat that makes it worth all the touristy questions you need to answer from them :o

I was stuck in Indy for a night and went to a steak place. Wasnt out of this work or anything but was quite decent. Bourbon was reasonable too. If I got stuck there again I might eat at that place but who knows. It is no different than most steak places I have been to.

Why are we arguing food quality with someone who reports to us on a daily basis about the grilled cheese sandwiches, breakfast burritos, Costco hotdogs and meatball subs he's ingesting?
