No, see the "right" kids will be able to afford private schools in other places. The "other" kids can get back to work in the fields or McDonald's or whatever.

This was unironically and without exaggeration the personality of my friend and boss at my Raytheon job. He didn't respect anyone who went to school after 12th grade because "I got schooling done at 18, I didn't need more years." Actual quote. His feeling was school is like the 100 yard dash. You all finish in the same place, so people who go on to college or grad school are just slower.

He was extremely smart and great at his job and dedicated. He tried to be a good manager (he was very racist and sexist, but it's so strange there wasn't any anger or dislike or victimization to it, he just knew he had to display noblesse oblige when dealing with lesser beings). He was, of course, the child of an evangelical pastor, and his wife homeschooled their kids from the bible as did their kids their kids. They lived in a literal compound in rural central Virginia and had over 100 guns for when society broke down. He was ready and a might gleeful.

He thought I was so bizarre he kept me as his pet commie.

This describes so many engineers and techies, even if they did have to go to college and do real STEM coursework while rolling their eyes at required ethics and humanities gen-eds.

It's like having ASD 1 is a marker (but neither a guarantee, nor an excuse) for being a world-class asshole. They're just usually smart enough to paper over it in professional settings.

I was shocked by this when I started working with engineers in defense. The engineers I had known were my friends at college, who were all 800 math SAT, SF, Monty Python, and King Crimson fanatics, and my father, who was a voracious autodidact and had amassed a personal library worthy of Federico da Montefeltro of Urbino.

I had no idea that engineers IRL were as closed minded and incurious as most blue collar professions. It was a shock!

Since then I have heard this is also often true of medical doctors. I know every one of my dentists has been a rock ribbed MAGAt.
