The Religion Thread: A Believer-Atheist Alliance

Every traditional Christmas song was new at some point in time. You can bet that when White Christmas was released, there were three or four other Christmas albums released that were completely unimpressive.

Yeah, and just as comedians don't try out new material for the first time on the Tonight Show, Christmas or Easter mass isn't the time to try something new.

Use the numerous masses during the Christmas/Easter seasons to experiment; don't screw with the main event.

Wish I liked church/Christian music. Do not.

Christmas music on the other hand is great just because it helps complete the overall Christmas experience - an experience that is unlike anything else.

IINM White Christmas was actually released by several singers at the same time. That used to happen when the label controlled the material and the singers were just employees.

Personally, when I think of "new" Catholic Christmas music I think of post-Handel. It's all been downhill since 1750.

The hymns are good... the rock music is not.

How does one solve the Syrian crisis? Put them all on an island. That's exactly what an Egyptian is trying to do. He's in the process of buying a major island in the med, helping to migrate Syrians there, building a city for them and single handedly financing an entirely economy for them. Oh yeah...and he's Christian.

And we're still too chickenshiat to take in 10,000. Most of the people refusing to do so are also Christian.

Along with demanding a xtian test just to get in.

Also, while buying an island for people to live on sounds nice, what are the logistics of the economy that they'll then be under? Will he also be providing homes? Food?

And what is the capacity of that island in terms of resources it can grow in order to feed its inhabitants? What are the import needs and export capabilities? If the island doesn't have any raw materials, they better hope to go gangbusters on tourism or it just remains the giant refugee camp that it would actually be upon initial population.

That domain is blocked by corporate policy.

Pics of other silly things religions make you wear / do. Falls under the general Pastafarian message that religious bias permeates civil society, in ways varying from "TEACH TEH CONTROVERSY!!!11!" to which silly things you can wear during your DMV mug shot.

They're making me go in for my first photo in 13 years next month. I wonder what I could get away with wearing in the name of a god. :D
