Re: The Official NCAA Tournament Predictions Thread

wait, why is an RPI fan cheering for BU? Is there a college hockey NIT?

Anyway, this thread would be a lot more interesting if you couldn't pick your own team ;)

*Invalid Frozen Four

Today's Consensus Frozen Four:
Yale - 46.81% (Duluth - 36.17%, Union - 14.89%, Air Force - 2.13%)
North Dakota - 63.83% (Denver - 29.79%, RPI - 4.26%, Western Michigan - 2.13%)
Boston College - 74.47% (Michigan - 10.64%, Omaha - 8.51%, CC - 6.38%)

Re: The Official NCAA Tournament Predictions Thread

A friend of mine said that one way to play these pools is to pick who you think will win, another way to play is to pick opposite the crowd, within reason, since if you pick the same way everyone else does, either you all are right and you win little; or you all are wrong and you win nothing.

Of course that strategy works a lot better when there is a [cough cough] "entry fee" and [ahem] "prizes." [move along, IRS agent, there is nothing to see here....]

Anyway,

East:
Union over Yale

Midwest:
RPI over Denver

West:
BC over Michigan

Northeast:
Merrimack over Miami

Finals:
BC over Merrimack 5 - 2

Clearly I'm a 'minimal necessary information' kind of person, eh?

oops, did not realize you meant 'total goals scored throughout the whole tournament' for your tiebreaker....

hmm...that requires either thinking or a random wild guess....

BC total goals 23; Merrimack total goals 15

As a semi-BU fan, I hate that I'm picking BC to win it all. PS My allegiances (in order) are RPI, RIT, and BU.

Re: The Official NCAA Tournament Predictions Thread

   There could be loss of life in this match up. ;) :D

Bigos could take out any 5 Sioux at the same time. :p

Well he sure didn't come even close to that in October of 2009 when we played Merrimack.

The Sioux get penalties for looking scary. Thanks for playing. Nice try.

HA! That could become a WWE type event. I can see Matt Frattin throwing a lawn mower at Bigos to retaliate for Merrimack goonery. ESPN would have to need to replace Thorne and Melrose with Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby the Brain Heenan, though.

Ehhh, if you replace Melrose with Monsoon or Heenan, you might get better college hockey analysis. :p:D:D
