The Manhattanville Valiants 2012-2013 Season Thread

Re: The Manhattanville Valiants 2012-2013 Season Thread

The ECAC West Stretch begins for the Valiants. Nine games left, all against Conference Opponents. Hopefully the Valiants go on a run!

Congratulations to the Neumann Knights on winning the ECAC West Tournament Championship, well earned. The Valiants had their ups and downs this year but I really enjoyed this season. Great group of guys, they worked hard, two great goalies, excellent coaches, and six seniors who will be missed very much. A lot of great moments, including that epic playoff game in which the Valiants upset #1 Utica at the AUD in Overtime. This team is headed in the right direction. I can't wait until next year. Let's Go Valiants!

It's not looking good for hockey at Rye Playland next season. Our hockey teams will most likely be at Terry Connors for the second straight season. I'm predicting that both the Men's and the Women's teams will each have a very road-heavy schedule next season due to how hard it is to get ice time there since so much goes on at that rink.

Sustainable Playland, a nonprofit in Rye, wants to scale back the amusement area and bring in private partners to run attractions that will bring the public to the park year-round. A new field house and outdoor fields, a new water zone, a revamped Ice Casino, restaurants and programming in new public spaces are envisioned as a way to make it a draw once again.

Sounds promising...also sounds like a business opportunity for a group that wants to get into the Ice Arena business....
