Running it under hot water will soften the glue. You can try rubbing alcohol too.

Might corrode the metal. Almost certainly would.

Also, even I’m not stupid enough to fark around with sulfuric acid. Source:I’m a chemist and chemical engineer.

Huh. Flamethrowers are really inexpensive. Why isn't the NFA a more active lobby? I feel I need this for personal protection.

Also: new colors!

Re: The Home Improvement Thread. Successes and Failures

I have a stupid question. Why doesn't the flame work its way back along the stream and explode the weapon (and you)?

No oxygen in weapon, no burn

... gas on a rag/paper towel when you fill up your car might work also :)
In a pinch when needing to remove tar from my car, I've used this option. Just have to be gentle.

It's also a very effective degreaser. Just wash thoroughly before smoking.

Since the accelerant is shot from the tank how do you prevent oxygen from seeping into it? Pressure lock?

A valve? The tank is pressurized. Nothing of lower pressure is getting back into a tank if the tank is at pressure.

What's good for getting sticker glue off of putty knifes? I've been painting walls and patching them in the process - the little divots that happen. During that time, the label sticker started to peel away and leaves the adhesive residue. Would mineral spirit work?
goo-gone.

I <3 that they offer bulk discounts as well  :D

Well look, heaven forbid a burglar steals your living room flamethrower, you need a flamethrower under your pillow to take him out. The Mrs. needs one too, in pink.

The baby you just give a lighter.

Re: The Home Improvement Thread. Successes and Failures

Well, had an interesting one last night.

An outlet in the family room, with a turned off lamp plugged into it was warm to the touch. Unplugged the lamp and waited a couple of hours.

Wall around outlet box was not warm (good sign) and the heater duct is 6' away, so ruled out leaky duct work.

Wall outlets are not supposed to be warm to the touch. So I replaced the outlet.

Problem solved.

4° outside. Pipes still good.

And an aerosol can of bug spray...
