Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

:p:D:D I am actually leaving for a much needed vacation this afternoon. My father-in-law, brother-in-law, and I go on a man trip each fall. This year...leave for Chicago tonight, then headed up to Green Bay for the Packers-Vikings game on Thursday Night. Driving back to Chicago after the game, then going to the Fleetwood Mac Concert at the United Center on Friday Night. Saturday we are getting up early and going to South Bend for the Irish-Stanford game (tentative - we don't have tickets yet for this game). After the game heading down to Indy, then going to the Colts-Ravens game Sunday afternoon. After the game we are driving to Cincinnati to catch a flight for D.C. Then we're hanging out in D.C. for the day before Monday Night Football, Redskins-Seahawks. Then we fly back to Denver on Tuesday. 8 states, 1 district, 5 events, 6 days, 3 guys...fun stuff. Then I sleep for 9 days to recover :p:D:D Consequently, for those paying attention, there won't be any updates until next Wednesday (slight possibility of Tuesday). At that point, I'll probably do 2-3/day to finish it up by that Sunday.

Well not sure the Fleetwood Mac thing is a man thing but OK. Sounds fun but a real man would find time between travel to get it done. :)

As penance for all that fun, we will expect a urinal rating for those venues.

Fleetwood Mac ...I loved them back in the day (there, I said it).

I actually liked the songs from the versions of the band that did Bare Trees and Mystery to Me better than the ones with Nicks and Buckingham....according to Wikipedia the band has had three or four incarnations under the same name.... the Buckingham - Nicks incarnation was fine with me too, sort of like saying I really like one beer compared to I like another beer, I like them both.

Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac was the best. "Then Play On" is a fantastic blues album.

But I did see the Nicks/Buckingham version last year....Lindsey can still play, but the other three were less impressive. Christine is back for this tour, which means tickets are probably about twice as expensive as they were for 2013.

Had a lot of fun on the trip, but now I'm ready to get this list done...

I'm going to attempt to do 2/day with an estimated finish by next weekend. Stay tuned for #14 and #13 later today...

#14 - Harvard Crimson
All-Time Record (Division 1): 1336-886-131 (.596)
NCAA Tournament Appearances: 21
NCAA Tournament Record: 14-29-1
Frozen Four Appearances: 12 (1955, 1957, 1958, 1969, 1971, 1974, 1975, 1983, 1986, 1987, 1989, 1994)
Best Result: National Champion (1989)
Most Dominant Season*: 1988-1989 (31-3-0 (.912) ECAC Regular Season Champions, NCAA National Champions)
Conference Championships: Regular Season - 10 Tournament - 8
National Championships: 1
Points Earned - 129.0634
Change: 1.2707 (+ 0.99%)
Last Season Position: 14 (unchanged)

The Harvard Crimson come in at #14. The Crimson have struggled of late, winning just 10 games last season marking their second consecutive 10 win campaign. Since head coach Ted Donato took over the program in 2004, Harvard has just 4 winning seasons and only 2 trips to the NCAA Tournament. That marks a stark downward trend for the Crimson, who had made five consecutive trips to the big dance from 2002-2006. Moreover, the 8 year streak without an NCAA Tournament appearance is the second longest such streak in program history. Harvard did the majority of its damage during a tremendous seven year stretch from 1983-1989, winning 20 games or more six times, making three appearances in the national title game, and bringing home the programs only national title to date. For Harvard to move up this list they will need to channel that stretch moving forward. They will have their work cut out for them this season, as the Crimson play in the ever difficult ECAC. If they can manage to get back on the winning side of the ledger, perhaps win some conference hardware and do some damage in the NCAA Tournament, the Harvard can move up these rankings. For now, they sit at #14.

Was certainly glad to hear the delay didn't include flu epicemics, trips to the ER, or the like.;)
