The GQP Thread: I'm even sick of that fuck's number and, anyway, he's gone (for now)

Or Twitter is just slowly (or quickly) degrading. When I click on links to tweets I need to reload about half the time in order to get it to actually display.

Yeah, it definitely is. Any tweet with a large number of engagements really struggles now. Same with any account that has a large number of followers. Everything is strained right now. I imagine the keepers of the infrastructure are just puking blood on a daily basis.

Several times a day I get posts that load "backwards". The replies show up on top of the original tweet. It usually crashes if I try to scroll.

Weird I have none of these issues. Maybe it's an Apple thing? I know iOS was one of the first to show issues.

Could be. I guess I can't remember if this was on the web and iOS or not. IIRC, the web and iOS feeds use the same rendering/feed/server/something and android is seprate.

I've only been to Twitter when I accidentally follow a link from here, but I have noticed people complaining about service quality lately. I wonder if they are under severe attack, or whether they lost everybody with even an ounce of technical skill and institutional knowledge.

Also doesn't seem like the best strategy to infuriate and fire your smartest techies. You know: the very people who would best know how to take you down.

They fired eveyrone in the infrastructure department (Redbird) and 80%+ of their engineers. They're down to several hundred employees, most of whom probably don't have a choice to leave, the best of whom did leave (because they're very employable elsewhere).
