The Democrats have:
- the Executive
- the House
- the Senate (51-50, don't complain about Manchin and Sinema, give them something a moderate Democrat can vote for)
1. This is disingenuous.
2. Sic knows very well that governing majorities in the past have also been able to rely on a few folks to cross the aisle.
3. This allows the few people in their own party who need to vote against legislation because of local rabble rabble can do so safely.
So, yes, Sic is insincere, as he also knows you need 60 votes to do anything and that the GQP are terrorists.
All well and good. But we also now the Nazis will stop at nothing when they get back into power. Not only will they play pure power politics, they will also quite literally cheat and steal both to gain office and to hold it. Ad what are we doing about it? Jack sh-t. Biden should have added 12 SCOTUS justices on his first day in office and slapped a silent embargo on any federal funding to AZ or WV until Manchin and Sinema caved. We are fighting Nazis for control of the world's largest arsenal. if the US goes down, whatever, there are 250 other human political experiments -- but the Nazis will literally end them all.
Our politicians have failed us. Let's hope our voters do not.
Does this Perry guy think that Liz Cheney doesn't have the goods? Does this Perry guy really think that Liz Cheney would say he asked for a Pardon from Trump if he didn't? Does this Perry guy really think he can pull a Trump and just pretend that it never happened and it will go away?
Liz is coming for these people and I am going to relish the carnage. Liz has nothing to lose. She's down 20 points to a Trump disciple in Wyoming.
Of all the things I've seen in my life - 9/11, the anthrax attacks, countless school shootings, two American wars, a Russian war, near depression, COVID - that photograph still sends a fucking chill down my spine like nothing else.Related. It was mentioned last night that in the days leading up to it, and even that day, the White House was getting reports of people intending violence at the rally. Reports from whom? And, were they not being shared with law enforcement and other agencies?
Because we all know the FBI has testified that they weren't seeing stuff. DHS said they weren't seeing stuff. Capitol police and the DC police force say they weren't seeing stuff. Otherwise, there would have been more security at the Capitol building that day. You know, like when BLM rallied.

They don’t deserve to interact with anyone. But someone will take the bait
He's not entirely wrong. People do vote the economy and the Democrats have done zilch to help. They actually sunset the one piece of legislation that was benefitting people! The president makes a highly publicized TV appearance and talks about what a great guy Mitch McConnell is. Nancy Pelosi has repeatedly said she wants a stronger Republican Party. Not exactly making the case for voting blue, are they? Meanwhile, the GQP came within a few feet of casting our Republic into the waste bin of history and regularly claim the president, Nancy and other Democrats are groomers and Antifa thugs who murder and drink the blood of babies. And the response from Democratic leadership is crickets. Or even worse, when bothering to say anything they endorse a pro-gun, anti-choice candidate for Congress and then tell us how important gun control and the right to choose are.
In other civilized, countries, the governments are helping citizens with the burdens inflicted by inflation and rising energy costs. Here we are told that wages are too high. (And that's not a GOP talking point, that's from the Biden administration!) We are lectured that people are lazy and just want a government handout.
The Democrats are headed for a bloodbath this November and don't even understand why they are going to get destroyed. The best they can hope for is to tread water and maintain 50-50 in the Senate, but the House is going to be a sea of red. I hope people are braced for Gym Jordan to chair the House Judiciary. Oh, and any investigation of January 6 is shelved in favor of endless Biden impeachments and hearings on how Antifa and BLM are plotting to overthrow the government.
And people mock me for wanting to leave this hellscape.
Let's also forget the economic crap going on is what is going to happen when you spend several months completely ignoring a pandemic so that it goes widespread and seeps into every corner of society and the economy. That is why competent administrations spend money and time analyzing these things ahead of time, coming up with gameplans, and acting proactively, not ignoring things every step of the way and proclaiming it over because it helps them politically.
Now, that may seem like blowing things off and blaming them solely on the previous group. Yes, I would like to see the current administration getting more, or really any, of its ideas done, but as you mentioned that relies on an opposition with more than one or two remotely sane people. Really all that is happening was bound to happen after the upheavals of the past two years; there's simply no way around it, with an economy that runs on such fine lines of supply and nimbleness, that level of upheaval was going to come home to roast once things started to level off. (Moreso when the previous President threatened the Fed Chair whenever he lifted rates.)
Let's put it this way. The house is still smoldering after a fire. We can look into getting new furniture, but we really need to put out the embers first. Also, the arsonist is still out there on the sidewalk waiting to strike again, and everyone is protecting him and still following him, and oh btw the arsonist just led a bunch of people into breaking into the firehouse. Yes we need to look into rebuilding at some point, but it's really fucking moot if they're just going to burn it down again in a month anyway; that problem needs to be fully dealt with first.
Of all the things I've seen in my life - 9/11, the anthrax attacks, countless school shootings, two American wars, a Russian war, near depression, COVID - that photograph still sends a fucking chill down my spine like nothing else.
What would you propose this admin do?

What would you propose this admin do?
He wont answer because there is no answer...
They screwed this up from the beginning. Back when Biden had high approval ratings he could have used his bully pulpit to get Manchin and Sinema in line. He could have told the unelected and meaningless Parliamentarian to pound sand. He could have passed the entire Build Back Better agenda. He could have raised the minimum wage to $15 and indexed it to inflation (hey, wouldn't that come in handy?) Back when she was still in the Senate, his VP proposed Universal Basic Income to help people through the pandemic. Any progress on that? He could have protected election rights and prevented the gerrymandering, the registration laws and the racist attempts at lowering voter turnout. For example, it's illegal to give water to a person in line to vote. Florida is a 50-50 state but will likely have 66% GOP representation after midterms. He could have expanded SCOTUS to match the number of circuit courts in the United States. But Biden didn't do any of that because he loves the filibuster and still believes the Senate is stuck in the 1970s. He loves Mitch McConnell and has a fantasy that the GOP is still a reasonable partner. He values all those things more than gun control, abortion rights, voting rights etc. In the end, he promised his donors that nothing would change and he delivered.
He could still do some things by executive order, like student loan forgiveness or legalizing marijuana. But he won't. He no longer has the same bully pulpit because his approval rating is in the crapper. And when the Democrats get their clocks cleaned in November he will secretly breathe a sigh of relief because it means he won't be expected to do a dammed thing between now and when King Donald I replaces him in 2024.
Hows that you blowhard?
The Office of Disciplinary Counsel, the disciplinary branch of the District of Columbia Bar, filed charges against Rudy Giuliani alleging that he promoted unsubstantiated voter fraud claims in Pennsylvania.
It was verbal diarrhea but at least you actually answered...so yay?!?
I mean if your goal is to be the Lefty Sicatoka you are well on your way McTipa!

here
He could not have done any of this. It's all fantasy twitterleftist imaginary nonsense. He can't just unilaterally declare gerrymandering illegal, especially when the court is 6-3. He couldn't pack the court - and never could. He can't just give UBI, it takes a senate to do that and manchin was never on board with that no matter how much bongwater you drink.
Thank goodness not all presidents are as unimaginative as Biden. I can't imagine how much worse off we'd be if LBJ hadn't exerted any pressure at all on his former colleagues in the Senate.
