I honestly thought of that but TB kills a frightening number of people per year (virtually none in the US, mercifully for us).

I'm also technically an independent - we have open primaries in MI - but as time has gone on I've found myself voting more Dem and in the last three cycles I've been all Dem whether they are warmongering centrists or pinko socialists. It's to the point that I make sure to thoroughly research the "non-partisan" candidates before I vote, because I cannot conscionably vote for Republicans or anyone with conservative views right now.

Honestly I hate it, because it feels like it goes against everything my parents and schools ever taught me about American politics, checks and balances, and taking all facts and opinions into account before stepping into the ballot box. But as they say, sometimes an open mind is just an empty mind.

One thing that has still maintained- Democrats are allowed to disagree with each other. So there's still a degree of checks and balances with Democrats.

VERY unlike Rs- who turn on ANY of their members who don't tow the line. Not like how people are angry with Manchin and whatnot, but actually turn on them. For the most part, when dumpy was president, nobody in his party would dare go against him, and he bashed the courts going against him. If anything is a risk to actual checks and balances, it Rs.

I was always a non-party person (that voted Left way more often than Right or even Center) but seeing the reaction of the GOP to a Darkie being President and their constant need to deny people of rights means I am now a registered Dem who will vote straight ticket. Even a pinko commie will get my vote if it is between them and a GOPer.

Until they expel the Fascists they don't exist in my world.

This kind of stuff just boggles the mind. How do they come up with it?? This:

I heard that Musk dug that tunnel as a practice run for the hyperloop!

seriously, do these people not know anything? (Don’t answer that!). Building a 700 mile tunnel would consume roughly the entire defense budget for a year ($1B/mile). And the reason it’s so expensive is paying the labor involved. Let’s say it’s a 10-year project, so a mere $70B per year. At $150 billed per man-hour, that’s 175,000 people who would have been employed by such a project. For 10 years. And not one of them leaked the info? Or took a selfie in the tunnel? Or mentioned it on Facebook?

Good grief.
