Several posters on here in the midterm thread said how people they know in the burbs will vote R because of gas prices.

just wait til their crotch fruit can’t get into good schools due to books being banned and learning nothing

There's a guy on TikTok I follow who owns a small oil drilling company and has been part of medium and large companies drilling. He's pretty in the loop.

He pointed out that there has been a million barrels a day from the strategic reserve that were released, AND oil production is up 1 million barrels a day. The extra two million barrels should have caused prices to stagnate or even drop.

But guess what, Europe is also in an oil crunch (thanks Russia) and oil companies sell oil to the highest bidder, so more oil is being exported continuing to put a squeeze on domestic sales.


We're not being price gouged, we're just having continued effects of capitalism.

Sure, injunction. But at least he'd be trying something. Hopefully not a dem judge that would end up overturning it.
 
I'm watching Cheneys statement...good God all these people they show testimony from have been lying for months on Right Wing TV...they admit he fucking lost under oath!

What are you talking about? Yesterday uno had commented that white collars he knows are really complaining about prices of gas and inflation- and that those people may end up voting R this fall based on high prices. My point here is that if those people vote R just for gas prices, they’re even dumber than I thought as they’ll be some of the most pissed after a republican congress whacks gay rights, contraception and officially decimates education
