I have several friends who have gone to St. Petersburg on the ferries from Sweden and Finland like he did- none of them managed to fall into a honey trap though.

I saw that in the earlier Twitter thread while I was skimming it. Apparently there are four "gambling zones" in Russia, six territories overall.

Also, it's been mentioned a few times that US Passport holders cannot just "take the boat" into Russia on a whim, but must have a visa to enter. This was pre-arranged.

Also, can I get a review of this from our national security experts on the board? I want to know how this is is 100% a-okay by them...

I mean, *I'd* be suspicious that someone way out of my league showed interest in me... I'd probably still go through it with, but at least that doubt would be there.

I guess there was a reason Mr. Rudy "Butt dial a reporter to talk about light treason, and needed an Apple Genius Bar member to unlock his iPhone" Guliani was named the Presidents Cyber Security advisor.

Is there really something to weilding power where it makes you lose common sense?

Think of how many rich people get swindled all the time. They think they are too smart to make the basic mistakes and they also believe that all the women banging them are doing it cause of how awesome they are.

Cawthorne is a moron but part of me thinks he figured it out and didn't care.

There's a reason that social engineering is, now more than ever, a much easier and preferable way to gain unauthorized access to info, computer systems, secure areas, etc. than literal hacking/cracking and/or burglary.
