The Frozen Four

Re: The Frozen Four

For those of you watching at home: fire up the Watch ESPN app and choose the Multicam option. No announcers and few commercial breaks. Ambient noise from the arena - lots of cheering fans, bands playing music and you can hear the refs, coaches and players. Did I mention no Barry Melrose? Also some funky angles usually reserved for instant replay.

Re: The Frozen Four

Not sure about that boarding call with hickey already on his way down but still waiting to see the vaunted nchc

I thought North Dakota played alright to begin with, and played much better in the second half of the period. Unfortunately, the PK tried to do a bit too much on the first goal, and then the second goal was an absolute weak goal by McIntyre...one of the softer ones he's let in in quite sometime.

North Dakota is 2-9-0 when trailing by 2 or more goals at any point. The two wins were over Air Force in OT and Lake Superior State.

Disappointing first period for North Dakota. I thought UND needed to be even or ahead after 20 minutes to have a shot. Down 2...against BU...barring an epic '97-style meltdown by the Terriers, it looks like BU will get their revenge.

Re: The Frozen Four

Has North Dakota actually sold a single jersey since rebranding? I can't say I've watched a North Dakota game since the nickname was removed where every NoDak fan in the building didn't have some type of Sioux apparel.

NCAA worries about a logo and name while Kentucky has 7 underclassmen go pro.....great education for them and a big check to NCAA

Yeah, just noboby wants the new ones because they don't say Sioux.

Re: The Frozen Four

Cruel game sometimes. Sioux have been all over them and bam...3-1

Yeah...McIntyre not playing his best game, that is for certain.

Doesn't help that we've hit 2-3 posts either.

And that's the game.

Congrats to Boston University...good luck against PC.

I am enjoying it, the only problem is that there are no instant replays while watching the app. Also lagging about 30 seconds behind the tv broadcast. Can be visually tough to watch sometimes but certainly a unique view of the game. tell the people to stop banging the boards. lol

Re: The Frozen Four

Agreed...which costs around $100 (number + name) if you get it done through the Sioux Shop. Add that to the $250ish for the jersey, and you're dropping $350-400.
You know I would say it's worth it, but it's tough to pick a college player. If the Gophers had authentics I would be all over it, but would not add a player.

Definitely worth it. I have 4 authentics without any player name/number on it...all with the Sioux crest. They were about $275-300 with tax and shipping. They are great quality, and look fantastic.

That being said, if I buy another authentic (which I probably will), I will probably wait until they pick a new nickname/logo.

Re: The Frozen Four

One of the things that came up today, while at the watch party at Aksarben Cinema here in Omaha, was that, after seeing Providence play against us today, we were all pretty sure North Dakota was going to be in trouble against BU.

Here's why.

The best game I saw played against US all season, out of conference, was by New Hampshire on New Year's Eve, here in Omaha. The 8th place team in Hockey East.

Once I saw how we were manhandled by Providence today, the consensus was that North Dakota was going to be in trouble.

North Dakota is somebody that we looked well matched against in our 4 games with them.
