If Iran executes 14,000 people, they are going to have major issues. They don't have the bargaining power China does.
 
The frustrating thing is that average means nothing. I get a lot of time off. Many more get none. I don't know what kind of calculations they use to come up with that number (does it exclude part timers? does it include part timers that cobble together multiple jobs?).

I'm not saying the US is good with time off, obviously.

I did not get the impression these were averages, but the number of legal holidays which each country recognizes.

(Then the number for the US should be zero. It would be on brand.)

But the number of paid holidays in the US for government employees is 10. I assume this is the comparable number in other lands. The fact that we don't specify a legal minimum for the private sector is just one more way capital fucks labor in the US. Cuz, you know, the freedumb to strong arm your employees, which materially improves the lives of a few hundred thousand people, trumps the freedom to be protected from predator owners, which would materially improve the lives of a few hundred million people.
