In the case of a shootout, the original holder will continue to hold it and an Alternate Belt will be given to the shootout "winner" if the original holder did not "win."
Whomever came into the game holding the belt continues to hold it.

Sorry, I misread your previous post. I thought that you meant that UAH had The Belt but did not make the NCAA tourney. If they have The Belt and the NCAA championship and drop the program then all teams that win games on the first day that any games are played next season will start with a Belt, and hopefully they will be united before long. That's what we did with the ECAC belt when that league started.
I really don't think that we need to worry about this.
