What is the rule for shootouts?
In the B1G they count the game as a tie and give an extra conference point. A shootout win in that situation doesn't win the belt, right?

What is the rule for shootouts?
In the B1G they count the game as a tie and give an extra conference point. A shootout win in that situation doesn't win the belt, right?

If the challenger wins in a shootout, the champion retains the belt and the challenger takes an alternate belt that gets passed around as normal until it merges with the official belt.

Correct. The one thing that I may have done wrong in the past is what happens to that alternate belt if later on it is involved in another shootout where the nonholder wins the shootout? Probably it should go to the shootout winner and not be retained by the possessor who lost the shootout. I don't know if it has ever happened, but I may have let the holder keep it and another started another alternate belt.
I hope that makes sense.

Thanks. I fixed the MN Belt. WMU is D-I although NMU is D-II.'
And no one noticed that I missed the NCHC Belt which goes to WMU who won in the 3 on 3 OT, even though the NCAA doesn't recognize it.
