I vote no second Alternative since it would unified with the first alternate automatically.

In my opinion Bowling Green should be awarded "The Belt". I agree that belts should won out right but; since the CCHA uses the shoot out to determine who gets more points, Bowling Green and Ohio are both members of the CCHA, and Bowling Green won both shoot outs they deserve "The Belt" outright.

I agree. If I understand the rules correctly, BGSU would get an alternate belt for beating Ohio St. in a shootout and retain the original alternate belt for not losing their game, at which point the alternates would be unified.

Out of curiosity, what would happen if OSU had won the second game in a shootout? Would OSU just take the belt outright, or would they take their own alternate to the alternate, which would then be unified with The Belt (which would mean nothing changed)?

However, the NCAA ignores the shootout result for PWR purposes. What your saying would make sense for the CCHA Belt, however in the original discussions several years ago, the opinion was to ignore shootout results for everything and award Alternate belts so those who believe the shootouts should count could also see where those Belts were.

The second alternative. The alternate^2 would immediately be unified with The Belt.

What if the shootout were to become nationally mandated... would we lose the alternate belts (aside from if the team with the belt doesn't make the playoffs)?

No, keep the alternates if it becomes nationally mandated. It's an abortion of a practice and many fans would agree that it's an all-staresque skills competition rather than a true result.
