The Battle for the Imaginary Cup - NMU vs. Michigan Tech, 12/18/09 and 1/12/10

Re: The Battle for the Imaginary Cup - NMU vs. Michigan Tech, 12/18/09 and 1/12/10

Anyone who bets anything on Tech has something wrong with them. I'm an optimist, but I'm not that insane. :o

Ugh. So, I made this huge mistake. One of my best friends from high school is now a Wolverine. He and I have always been really competitive about everything (one of those friendships where we hate each other, yet love each other, and everyone says we're going to get married someday). We got into a debate this past summer about hockey, and now have a bet on the next game which MTU plays against UMich. $50 on every goal in the margin of victory...
* me. :(

The obvious solution is to bet against them.

Either Tech wins, or you win your bet. It's like buying wins. And don't listen to Pete Rose, it's absolutely ethical. When you have 3 wins, ethics go out the window.

If NMU bounces back my guess is that Ray Kaunisto will have something to do with it. I realize he's from the Soo so he probably gets a little extra motivation when he comes to town but man the guy can flat out play hockey. NMU didn't have a ton of bright spots this weekend but he sure was one of them...really wish he would have stayed home...

Like I said, anyone who bets anything on Tech has something wrong with them. ;)

P.S. Last year was 5-0. I hope you're prepared to drop a couple hundred on that bet. :p

I know, bad move on my part. I'm even admitting that.

Ke ke ke, barring any unforseen event, I'll be attending.

FIRE RUSSELL!

Brent did leave me that bottle of the Baltika stuff... maybe I should drink that before the game. It'll make it not hurt so much...
Hearing about that stuff from Brent friday night, I'll give you some permafrost for some.:p

You wont be standing come game time

And this is bad... how?

I do love my team, and I will be there, but my hopes are not high for this series. There's something about UP teams that seems to be kryptonite for the 'Cats.

A Tech friend of mine did something bad a couple of years ago. So she calls her mom up crying and says "Mom, I made a huge mistake". She then proceeds to explain that she slept through a final... "Click", her mom hangs up, obviously thinking her daughter meant she had gotten pregnant.

This is a good goal to shoot for, since NMU is on Christmas break RIGHT NOW and only a handful of Techies will be able to make it.

So, that being said, who all is coming down for the game?

That, and it's the Official attendance. There won't be more than 800 people in the Berry, including the teams, but NMU will pump the numbers.

EDIT: and I'm not going.

Since I seem to be addicted to pain and suffering, tYager will be present and will be in full force heckling of all NMU people that he knows (basically, you and one guy on the football team that I went to HS with). After the game, I will continue my drive and get home around 6am.
