Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

Probably an inch or 2 30 miles south of Alfond. I wouldn't want to be the driver of the bus on the way home.

Thanks for the update. We're hitting the road from Fredericton shortly.

Btw, in case you aren't aware, all of the players in the AUS conference of the CIS wear visors, not full face protection. Teams from Ontario and Quebec have to wear the cages or full Itechs.

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

I don't remember if Maine ever did have a very good goalie coach... if they did, I am sure Tim would have done everything in his power to keep him around...
a smart coach would have done that.

If only Grant were a robot, he could have coached forever!

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

Is anyone else back to having the same feeling as when we started the season? :(

When is someone in the media gonna have the balls to ask TIMMAY about all of these de-commits???

No one in the local media around here has a pair. They'll just continue to kiss his butt everyday.

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

In fairness to Tim and Larry, et al, I believe NCAA rules forbid him from commenting on anyone who hasn't signed an NLI.

So? Tim should break whichever NCAA rules he has to in order to win. That's how it works, right?

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

Maine played very well tonight against the Varsity Reds. They are a good team and skate very well. Fullerton, their #1 goal tender had passport problems and didn't make it to the game until the 3rd period. According to Hennigan he was only scheduled to play one period anyway (the 1st period). I thought Nemec continues to improve defensively and David deKastrozza had one of his best games in a Maine uniform. Nice to see him score some goals. Maine did what no other team from Hockey East was able to do, beat them. Maine played very physical but did not take any stupid penalties. The bright spot was Maine scoring on two consecutive power play's. I think they they were something like 0 for 13 prior to tonight. Roughly 3000 people there to see it according to the radio.

Hey dipsh*t........I think that Larry or other media members can still ask him about the de-commits as long as they don't quote him directly. You think that this ISN'T a story??? You sure think so on eagleaction.........

I have to wonder how close you actually were to the team to be so dam dense.

This is a man who eats, sleeps and lives the fine points of athletics. If he is not giving tips on a player's stride, then he is giving tips on my golf swing, or the kinesiology of something else.
I have a good idea that he would still "robot" if he were wanted.

but it had to get old being "wrong" all the time

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

It was nice to win an exhibition game against a quality team, but I'm with Wally;Sirman should have gotten the start. He needs game-reps,and the team needs to get comfortable in front of him.(I realize that Willie has played some great home games, but why not save it for when it counts?)

Wow, I took his comments as defending Tim and the reason you won't get any comments about the kids who changed their minds. Guess I was wrong

You can wonder all you want. You can use whatever cliches you like to describe Grant's love of the program, and of hockey in general. He wasn't going to coach forever. He has earned the right to retire on his own terms, not when you decide. And just because you guys think there was a shooter standing on the grassy knoll doesn't make it so. You see drama and conspiracies where they don't exist. But I understand. You have to deflect from the fact that the program was built on a foundation of lies.

No, you were right. Tim won't discuss those kids because of NCAA rules. My comment was aimed at the people here who would rather Tim break some NCAA rules, like his predecessor.

By the way, you forgot to complete your post with your trademark "TF". It pains me to see you slipping up like that.

I thought it was sad.

Who on here wants Tim to break NCAA rules?

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

Well, on this page alone, sandiego and GBB.

If Tim refuses to comment, then their is no issue with the NCAA. The NCAA doesn't prohibit asking about them, does it?
