The 2018 My Team Got the Shaft from the NCAA Thread

Re: The 2018 My Team Got the Shaft from the NCAA Thread

Any selection/omission Fishman disagrees with moves to the top of the list...

And don't forget. At the end of the day, It is STILL R.I.T.'s Fault.

Re: The 2018 My Team Got the Shaft from the NCAA Thread

I'd love to see the final comparison of Oswego and Marian. I really thought the Lakers would get in, but I guess when you lose your last three games at home to unranked teams and score one goal, there really isn't an argument you can make.

I agree in theory but using the criteria the NCAA says it supposedly uses that should not be relevant, or only should be after other criteria is exhausted. I am pretty confused.

Where are the Oswego fans? This is your thread.

I noticed Marian is missing from the NCAA stat sheet from the last regional ranking.

Edit: Now I see that the stat sheets are from 2017 instead of 2018. Marian is there, it's just their record was so bad I figured it was another Marian team!

Hint: "East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet." At least in the first round.

That's why they use the smoke-filled room rather than a computer.

Boooooo Hisssssssss

Where are the Oswego fans? This is your thread.

We're busy consulting with Trinity and Utica to get our stories straight.

If Marian were in the East they'd pretty much be Buffalo State.

Re: The 2018 My Team Got the Shaft from the NCAA Thread

..........speechless. 1 win over Stevens-Point and you get a free pass to the NCAA?

Re: The 2018 My Team Got the Shaft from the NCAA Thread

There were a lot of teams that should have been in over Marian. Oswego and Trinity would be the top two for sure. D3Hockey does a great job breaking down their version of Bracketology and there's no way Marian should have been in based on NCAA criteria.

Re: The 2018 My Team Got the Shaft from the NCAA Thread

Easy pick for the no nard NCAA. **** off the 3 programs that actually have good teams. F’d up as usual

Actually, the field is fairly reasonable, IMO. The committee has done a decent job recently within the constraints they have to deal with. As per usual, the tournament AQ's were a wrench in the gears.

Thing is, the D-3 criteria are so fungible as to be meaningless. A smoke-screen, if the committee wants to use them as such. Until -if ever- D-3 installs some transparent system, there's always going to be a "We got screwed!" thread here.

(Having said that, I have to agree with Marian besting both Oswego and Trinity in the rankings, and I don't feel majorly violated as a Utica fan, either.)
