The 2018 midterm elections!

Re: The 2018 midterm elections!

Last two polls are within the margin (according to RCP) so it could go either way but something about the Walker campaign this time makes it seem like they fear the numbers are worse than that. My guess is their internal polling has independents walking away from him. In a close race he is going to need them.

If Wisconsin re-elects him they might as well shut down their schools cause he has screwed their education up hardcore. His austerity has helped him frame the economic argument but sooner or later that will backfire too. Wisconsin has a chance to get out of the Dark Ages before it is too late.

I have no idea how it will go either way. And, frankly, it's not my state so I don't care. My parents live there and my sister and her family (Trump all the way) do and that's their problem.

Re: The 2018 midterm elections!

There are people who voted for Trump knowing full well that his policies would affect them personally (and they did).

If I was to throw a five spot down on the elections: local elections are a push (no blue wave, no red suffocation), GOP hold the House and Senate.

Re: The 2018 midterm elections!

My dad is an independent (mostly Republican if we're being honest) who voted for Walked the first two times and donated to his campaign. He's in the highway industry and they basically need construction projects from the state to fund a lot of their business. Needless to say he isn't very happy with the guy.

Can't fix stupid ;)

My grandparents used to live in Iowa so I know the feeling.

I will take that bet. Loser makes a donation to winners choice of charities or something?

Re: The 2018 midterm elections!

Only good news out of Wisconsin right now is Baldwin leads Vukmir. Not that Baldwin is great but this will help soothe the sting of Walker and Schimel getting re-elected.

We really need the fairness doctrine reinstated and the 1996 communications bill (I forget the name) overturned.

EDIT: telecommunications act of 96.

Really? Walker again? After he tried to abandon Wisconsin and run for POTUS midway through his term?

Or you can just send it to the Elizabeth Warren charities. I hear they've fallen a bit short with respect to collecting on their pledges this year.

Where are you seeing Walker will get re-elected. Most polling has Evers leading outside of the Marquette poll. (which has Walker with a slight lead) Nothing I have heard or read seems to support the idea of him being re-elected.

A couple of radio guys (opposite side of the political spectrum from me) have been crowing about Walker winning and Evers not having as much ch support, Democrats stay home etc.

I’m fired up, i’ll Be there for Evers but i’m also pessimistic. No one I know even discusses Act 10 anymore.

Re: The 2018 midterm elections!

Yeah, people love him here unfortunately.

Yeah. This must be why. These numbers are incredible.

People here (Wisconsin) are so easily duped by talk radio it’s grotesque.

That chart could show WI 50th in jobs with a link to a 10,000 page report illustrating the how and why but many sconnies would say “oh, George Soros paid for that report. And ya know, Foxconn!”

Walker is the cause of chronic wasting disease?

Yeah, it's ****ing crazy that people would look to government for help with that issue and expect leadership from their Governor. Just ****ing nuts. Stupid people.

Well all gov is bad right? Get rid of it all. Job killer to even ask an agency to track things like chronic wasting disease

I guess anarchy is the way to go. I always thought that was an extreme left position but maybe we have a circle and the extreme right has creeped over it.
