I'm sorry but I dont care how good of a SOS you have NO team with a losing record should be in the top16 of pairwise,
this system is broken.

No it's not because it accounts for that happening, as all sub .500 teams are automatically disqualified from tournament consideration.

Re: The 2015 Pairwise, Bracketology and History Thread

Well which of these 16 teams has a losing record? Please clue me in.

St. Cloud cracked 16 today with a 16-17-1 record. But as mentioned, they're auto dq for being sub .500 and they'd lose out to the AHA autobid anyway...if not some conference tourney surprise (I think the B10 could give us one of those this year.)

For what it's worth KRACH has them at #10

Well A. They are not in the 16 that priceless used to do his calculations. Which is what counts, So why bother whining about it AND B. they are a dam* site better than Vermont in any event. ( and I hate St clooud.)

Re: The 2015 Pairwise, Bracketology and History Thread

If UNO makes the tourney, I frankly wish that they do whatever they need to to get us sent to Fargo or South Bend, unless they sweep SCSU and win a game in Minneapolis, which I think will have us at least sniffing at a #1 seed. We get a 1 seed, I don't care where we go.

Fargo is the LAST place on earth DU wants to go. One it's cold, two it's green. We've been hunkered down in the eighth spot for a while. I'm actually hoping we lose to UMD in 2 and get week off and fall to a three seed and end up in South Bend. I'd even take a trip to the east coast over Fargo. Nobody but the Sioux are coming out of there.

No different than Wisconsin from 8-9 years back... except now we have the hold-out rule

Not that NCAA would do this, but...

Got DU out of Fargo:D
and
Providence to Providence

(bias may be involved);)

#1 North Dakota vs Robert Morris
Omaha vs Boston C (BC has been UND Kryptonite)

South Bend
#4 Miami vs Bowling Green
MIchigan Tech vs Quinnipiac

Manchester
#2 Mankato vs Lowell
Boston U vs Yale

Providence
#3 Duluth vs Minnesota
Denver vs Providence (Killer Miller--PC advantage:eek::confused:)

As to BC being UND's kriptonyte, they haven't played a NCAA game in 8 years. Not even the seniors on this current team had teammates that played against BC. As a UND fan, I'd be happy to have them in Fargo and have a shot at putting this BC thing to rest. Better to play them in Fargo than Boston! Home ice wouldn't hurt either :D

Re: The 2015 Pairwise, Bracketology and History Thread

Also, Michigan State is leading the Big 10. So if you're doing the brackets, it would be proper to give the Big 10 autobid to Michigan State, bumping Lowell out.

edit: and Michigan State is currently below Robert Morris in the PWR, so RMU would be the 15 seed, MSU the 16.

Re: The 2015 Pairwise, Bracketology and History Thread

I'd make the brackets this way:

Fargo:
1. North Dakota
2. Denver
3. Providence
4. Michigan State

Manchester:
1. Minnesota State
2. Nebraska-Omaha
3. Boston College
4. Robert Morris

Providence:
1. Minnesota-Duluth
2. Boston University
3. Bowling Green
4. Yale

South Bend:
1. Miami
2. Michigan Tech
3. Quinnipiac
4. Minnesota

The only swap I made from the perfect bracket integrity bracket was to send MN to South Bend, swapping with Yale. MN would improve attendance in South Bend, and Yale going Providence avoids a flight.

I like your brackets, but as I understand it, there won't be an "attendance" issue in South Bend, if by attendance you mean tickets sold, since they are pretty much sold out. If by attendance you mean actual bodies in the seats and how it looks on TV, then yes, there may be an attendance issue in South Bend without moving some teams around.

Yeah, I'm talking about butts in the seats. Having tickets sold and seats empty is better than not selling tickets, but I still think that the NCAA would much rather have seats full at regionals, for atmosphere reasons, and just because it is much less depressing for the TV broadcast.
