I thought though that NCAA rules prohibit college teams from playing against potential recruits and I'd assume that a lot of the Aeros are high on anyone's list.

Many other teams like Dawson, Bluewater etc that have played against US College teams have a large number of recruits. Must be some rule (or exemption) to allow for it somewhere. I do know that some rules are different for International recruits ( for example a phone call in the summer prior to Junior year), so maybe that is where this comes into play.
