Tennis...Anyone?

Re: Tennis...Anyone?

Two Spaniards in the Men's Final:

Nadal (3) vs Ferrer (4)

Good final, I think!

Re: Tennis...Anyone?

The Nadal-Djokovich match will be replayed on Tennis Channel at 5PM.

Re: Tennis...Anyone?

I wonder what the over / under line is on how many games Sharapova will win in the match. If it were 7, I'd have a tough time deciding whether to take the over or the under, the way Serena has been playing lately. Grudgingly take the over since Sharapova can't be that bad every time against Serena, can she?

EDIT: a competitive match from Sharapova, as Serena wins 6-4, 6-4. Serena is now the 4th woman to have won every Grand Slam tournament twice, along with Chris Evert, Martina Navritalova, and Steffi Graf.

FRENCH OPEN

Men's Final - Nadal vs. Ferrer

Nadal takes the second set: 6 - 2 after the bizarre, flaming protest during the seventh game.

Nadal leads 6 - 3, 6 - 2

Re: Tennis...Anyone?

Nadal wins his 8th FRENCH OPEN Championship: 6 - 3, 6 - 2, 6 - 3

Mastery, Dominance, Superiority!?!?

Re: Tennis...Anyone?

Does U.S. tennis have anyone in the pipeline (men or women) once Serena is done? Certainly doesn't seem like it.

Two articles of interest on U.S. Women's tennis:

http://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2013/06/the-relative-triumph-of-us-womens-tennis-at-the-2013-french-open/276515/

Looks like the women have better prospects than the men.

Azarenka just goes down in a heap when her leg slips in her Wimbledon 1st round match - doesn't look good for her.

Edit - taped up now and pushing on

Darcis over Nadal, straight sets, in first round of Wimbledon: 7 - 6, 7- 6, 6 - 4

First time Nadal has lost in the 1st round of a major.

Re: Tennis...Anyone?

and the carnage at Wimbledon continues....

on the men's side, Isner and Tsonga retire.

On the women's side, Azarenka retires, and in the battle of the shriekers, Larcher de Brito leads Sharapova 6-3, 5-4. If this match were held in the USA, OSHA might require that earplugs be dispensed!
