Televise the Women's D1 National Championship Game - how do we make it happen?

Back when I had DirecTV I sprung for the international dish as well so I could get the Cricket Ticket.

FIOS has cricket 24/7 on channel 1007. I've become a fan over limited overs cricket. I have not acquired a taste for test cricket.

Besides you're not going to see cheerleaders with "White Mischief" on their uniforms in the USA.

I'd rather watch paint dry.

Ugh. Twenty20 is an abomination that must be eradicated from the face of the earth. ODIs are tolerable but remain but a pale imitation of true cricket.

I think the toughest thing with making T20 work is that the limiting factor is almost always the overs, not actual dismissals. Sure, guys with higher run rates will be more valuable, so getting them out makes a difference, but it's not as much as a test match.

The toughest thing about making T20 work is that it completely strips out the things that make cricket unique, in an attempt to make it just like every other sport. That it is the number of overs that is limiting is only a part of the problem, though it's enough that 50 over matches are at least watchable because there really is a trade off being protecting your wicket and trying to score.

But the other things are gone from all forms of limited overs cricket. The test of mental endurance of being able to maintain focus over the hours of play is mostly gone in ODIs and entirely so in T20. The strategy of not only protecting your wicket or scoring, but also that of playing for a win or a draw (and for those not familiar with test cricket, a tie and a draw are not the same thing) is absent.
