Tech help!!

I apologize if there’s a thread for this already…

i need some guidance. I have an old 160 gig iPod classic that contains 21,000 songs. Most ripped from cds, and roughly 300-400 are songs were shared via email and I moved to iTunes years and years ago but were never uploaded to the iCloud (songs from various bands I played in)…

my issue is I have a new laptop with windows 11, intel 7 and there appears to be no way to rip music from the iPod to the laptop. Even in iTunes I see no way to accomplish this.

any thoughts on how to save this music? I’m worrried the iPod won’t last much longer and I want to save these files.

There are two apps now for the computer- one is Apple Music and I can’t recall the other- which is the one used to sync music and whatnot. Not sure if it works for an iPod, but it’s the new thing for phones.

Also, it’s possible that the iPod will be seen as a drive??? Maybe?

Just a quick search "does windows 11 read old ipods" turns up a lot of results with walkthroughs on how to get your ipod loading in itunes. Like all tech there appears to be a few people who cant get it to work, but to answer your question yes you should be able to do it, and with a bit of internet sleuthing and some patience you should be able to solve whatever issues arise barring corrupted data or fried hardware.
